'Unsolved Mysteries' Is Returning To Netflix With New Episodes On October 19th

We could all use some good news, and lately it seems like a lot of that good news comes from Netflix. I'm not complaining. Now that I and lots of other people are stuck at home for extended periods of time, it's honestly reassuring to know that I will always have new stuff to watch to fill my time.

Like, for example, new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries.

*Unsolved Mysteries* has been around for a long time.

The original run of the documentary-style show that focuses on real-life mysteries ran on NBC for ten years starting in 1987, but has been on-and-off on different networks until the last version aired on Spike in 2010.

When Netflix revived the show for a 15th season that was released in July 2020, it was a huge hit.

But fans were left wanting more. So when their official Twitter account tweeted this mysterious picture and implied there was a clue hidden within it, it didn't take long for all the sleuths to find the hidden message confirming that the show was coming back for more.

“In six new episodes, ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ profiles more unexplained disappearances, tragic events, and bizarre occurrences,” Netflix revealed.

“Perhaps one viewer holds the key to solving these cases,” the statement continued, “Detectives, journalists, and family members offer intriguing theories in this gripping series, from the creators of the original docuseries, Cosgrove/Meurer Productions, and 21 Laps Entertainment, the producers of Stranger Things.”

Are you excited?

I've recently become obsessed with true crime stories, and Unsolved Mysteries is one of my favorite shows on the subject, so I can't wait for more episodes.

A previous version mistakenly said that the show started in 1997, but has since been corrected to 1987.
