These days, most people know and recognize Meghan Markle as the (former)Duchess of Sussex. But there's a lot more to Meghan than just her blue blood ties.

Below are 10+ random facts fans didn't know about Meghan Markle. From her early days spent on the set of Married...With Children to her caravanning through the mountains of New Zealand — Meghan sure leads one exciting life!

1. Meghan practices Yoga and has done so for years.

"Yoga is my thing. My mom is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was seven. I was very resistant as a kid, but she said, 'Flower, you will find your practice – just give it time.'"

That's right: Meghan's mom calls her "Flower".


"Did I say that? How funny. Yes, my mom calls me 'Flower' She has always called me 'Flower.' It’s really funny because I don’t even think about it when I’m describing how we chat."

2. She originally dreamed of a career in politics.


"By my junior year I had finished most of my credits, and I applied for an internship at the U.S. Embassy, so I ended up working in the embassy in Buenos Aires for a few months."

3. Meghan is and has always been a feminist.

"I don't think it's right for kids to grow up thinking these things, that just Mom does everything," Meghan said during her first television appearance.

Meghan was speaking out against sexism in advertising.

Meghan said that the city "is like my home. At the onset, I didn’t know what to expect, but everyone has been so welcoming. The people are so kind, I love the food scene, and I really love exploring little nooks around the city with my two dogs."

9. It was incredibly difficult for Meghan to find her break in television.

Meghan admits that "Before Suits, I did a pilot every single year. I even did a pilot for ABC with Patrick J. Adams, who plays Mike Ross on the show, like six years ago. So long!"

10. She knows how to make good things taste great.

"I pride myself in figuring out how to elevate a dish with a little preserved lemon, or then a sprinkle of Maldon salt."

I don't understand any of what Meghan just said but it sounds scrumptious!

11. Meghan has one weakness when it comes to food.


Meghan proudly stated: "I could eat French fries all day. And I love pasta. I love carbs – who doesn’t love a carbohydrate?"

I know I sure do. In fact, I'm actually eating a plate of fries as I'm typing this!

"When I had my car brought out here, I shipped my Vitamix in the backseat. It was one of the things where I was like I cannot travel without my Vitamix. It's like a commercial at this point."

"I recently campervanned through New Zealand with my husband, where we fell in love with so many off-the-beaten-path wineries."
