Maren Morris Speaks Out After Mom-Shamers Slam Lake Pic With 4-Month-Old Son

I think we can all agree mommy-shamers are one of the worst types of internet trolls. They truly cannot let a new mom catch a break! They alllll think they know best and have no problem sharing their ~ superior ~ opinions online.

New mom and country singin' cutie Maren Morris knows better than anyone the damaging effect these trolls can have, and is speaking out about her experience!

You know Maren Morris for being adorable and super duper talented!

The "Girl" singer has skyrocketed to international fame and I CANNOT stop listening to her love song "Bones."

It truly is a gorgeous drunk cry song if you're in the search for one!

Not only is Maren a talented singer-songwriter and wife, she is also a new mom!

She and her hubby, Ryan Hurd, welcomed their baby boy, Hayes Andrew Hurd, back in March, and the lil' family couldn't be cuter!

Unfortunately, Maren quickly experienced the negative side of sharing sweet moments with her son.

As you may recall, Maren was dragged on Twitter earlier this month after sharing a photo of her and her son floating on the lake without life jackets on.

"Motor-floatin'," she captioned the adorable pic. CAN WE PLS TAKE A MOMENT FOR THEIR MATCHING SWIMSUITS?!

While most comments were noting how sweet the duo looked, someone pointed out that her son wasn't wearing a life jacket.

"Where is the baby's life jacket???" asked one Twitter user.

Thankfully, this hater was met with a lot of backlash.

"His mother is his life jacket. But if you were a mother and had any idea of how to look after a child, you would know that. She knew there would be some [expletive] who would say something like this and posted it anyway. Because she knows how to look after her own child," wrote one fan.

"Most moms can look at this photo and know exactly what is going on in the photo. Like do you really think they just floated around all day like this? Like maybe it was a minute or two window to take a super cute theme photo? Ffs. I hate it here," wrote another.

While replying to a fan defending her, Maren made it clear she was having enough of the mom-shaming.

"Honestly, I get so many criticisms of my motherhood on anything I post of Hayes, so I may just discontinue posting photos of him. Sucks but it’s kind of where I’m at," Maren wrote.

Naturally, this was disappointing news to longtime fans of Maren, who want to share in the new mom's joy on social media!

Since the backlash, Maren has only taken photo's of her son with his face away from the camera.

Now, Maren is speaking with Andy Cohen about the emotional toll the mommy-shamers have had on her.

"I don't think I'm gonna show his face in photos on social media anymore," she told Andy.

"I'm gonna be a little more private about him. It's been so fun sharing photos of him, but I feel like... you know, I can take someone saying my music sucks or I'm ruining country music, but for some reason, the mother card, I can't emotionally handle right now."

"So I was like, 'I'm just gonna protect myself and him from it.'"

She then clarified that Hayes was totally safe in her arms at the time of the photo: "I will say, he was completely safe. We were tied to a dock, I was in a foot of water on a float."

When asked what she would say to the mommy shamers out there, Maren replied: "I would just have to say to anyone that is a mother who is shaming another mother, it obviously, I think comes from a deep insecurity in your own motherhood that you have to criticize someone else that's especially brand new at this."

"We all feel like we suck in the beginning anyways," she concluded.
