New Tell-All Book About Royal Family Claims Meghan Was 'Disappointed' In Kate's Behavior

As you may have heard, a new tell-all book about the Royal family is coming out soon and it sounds JUICY AF! Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family hits bookshelves on August 11th!

The book is obviously not written by anyone officially involved with the family, but by Royal correspondents Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.

The book details Meghan and Harry's past two years in the public eye as newlyweds and new parents. It also details Meghan and Kate Middleton's relationship, which has been rumoured to be strained.

According to the book, as published by The Times, the sisters-in-law "struggled to move past the distant politeness of when they first met."

"The truth was Meghan and Kate just didn’t know each other that well … Though it was not necessarily her responsibility, Kate did little to bridge the divide,” Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand explain in the book.

They added that while the ladies "were not at war with each other," there definitely were some "awkward moments" between Kate and Meghan.

The book also claims that the pair had nothing in common "other than the fact that they lived at Kensington Palace."

The book also claims that Prince Harry and Meghan were "shocked when they weren’t included in the procession of senior royals at the Commonwealth Service in March."

"The decision had been made without their consultation, and they were informed long after the 2,000 orders of service had been printed for guests, with their names notably absent,” one excerpt reads.

"It felt intentional.”

The excerpt continues: "While Harry and Meghan both greeted William and Kate with smiles, the Cambridges showed little response."

"It was the first time the two couples had seen each other since January. ‘Harry,’ William nodded, ignoring Meghan."

"For the minutes before the Queen’s arrival, William and Kate sat with their backs to the couple, only turning around to chat with Prince Edward and [his wife] Sophie, next to the Sussexes"

"Although Meghan tried to make eye contact with Kate, the duchess barely acknowledged her.”

Fans of the Royal family will remember this event and all the conspiracy theories floating around it.

People felt the video was "awkward" and that Kate totally snubbed Meghan!

One fan called Kate and Sophie "high school mean girls." Yikes.

*Finding Freedom* alleges that Meghan was let down by Kate's behavior: "At the outset of her romance with Harry, Meghan had fully expected Kate to reach out and give her the lie of the land on everything an outsider to the Firm needed to know."

"But that was not how things turned out."

The book also claims Meghan’s relationship with Kate “hadn’t progressed much since she was Harry’s girlfriend”.

Express U.K. published an excerpt that reads: "Although Meghan might have understood Kate’s wariness to strike up a meaningful friendship, they were still no closer by the time she was a fellow senior working member of the royal family and the wife of William’s brother.

"The truth was that Meghan and Kate just didn't know each other that well."

"Meghan was disappointed that she and Kate hadn’t bonded over the position they shared, but she wasn’t losing sleep over it."

A spokesman for Harry and Meghan has spoken out in defense of the couple, claiming the pair did not contribute to the book.

The statement read: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to Finding Freedom. This book is based on the authors' own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting."
