Mel Gibson, 64, Reveals He Had Been Hospitalized For Coronavirus

Perhaps the most well-known case of a celebrity catching the coronavirus was Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson.

Tom opened up on Instagram on March 11th that he and his wife had tested positive for coronavirus, although the two of them have since both thankfully recovered.

They weren't the only celebrities who have been affected by the virus.

Actor Mel Gibson has now revealed that he contracted coronavirus and was hospitalized in April.

"He tested positive in April and spent a week in the hospital," a representative for Mel Gibson confirmed in a statement on July 23rd to PEOPLE, who also reported that the star was treated at a hospital in Los Angeles.

Mel's representative confirmed that Mel has tested negative since then.

"He was treated with the drug Remdesivir, while in the hospital, and has tested negative numerous times since then as well as positive for the antibodies," their statement continued.

Another celebrity who has recently come forward about a positive coronavirus diagnosis is Pitch Perfect star Anna Camp.

Anna revealed that despite recovering and testing negative, symptoms still lingered a month after her diagnosis.

"I’m only smelling about 30 percent of how I used to now. Other persistent symptoms are (a month later) dizziness, extreme fatigue, impacted sinuses, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, and fever," Anna revealed.
