Jamie Lynn Spears Defends Britney Spears After Fan Questions Her Mental Health

Supporting your family is always important, but it might be even more important when you're in the public eye and people are frequently making assumptions about your family's mental health and capabilities.

Britney Spears is no stranger to controversies surrounding her, and her younger sister Jamie Lynn has recently proved that she has Britney's back no matter what!

It all started when Jamie Lynn Spears shared a tweet by musician Halsey on her Instagram.

Halsey's tweet, which many believe is a reference to Kanye West's recent behavior, read "A manic episode isn't a joke. If you can't offer understanding or sympathy, offer your silence."

Clearly this was a message that resonated with Jamie Lynn.

Jamie Lynn shared Halsey's message and added her own note in the caption.

“If you deal with mental illness or care for someone dealing with mental illness, then you know how important it is to respect the situation with privacy for the person, and the family trying to protect their loved ones, no matter how it may appear to the public, and as the public we must learn to do the same,” she wrote on her Instagram.

“I pray this doesn’t bring shame to anyone dealing with mental illness, you are not alone, and you are loved. Sending all my love and prayers to all of you,” she finished.

However, one commenter was not satisfied with this message, and responded asking, “How about your sister’s OBVIOUS mental illness? Why don’t you speak on that?” referencing Britney, whose social media activity has frequently lead to speculation about her mental health.

Jamie Lynn was not here for that comment.

"You have no right to assume anything about my sister. And I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters," Jamie Lynn responded. "She’s a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that’s the only thing that is obvious."

We love to see sisters sticking up for each other!
