'Daniel Tiger' Will Teach Kids About Quarantine And Face Masks Next Season

There are few things that are more important than making sure your child feels safe, comfortable, and secure in what's happening around them, and the current pandemic has made that very difficult.

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood wants to make it easier.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.

In the seaosn 5 premiere, *Daniel Tiger's Nieghborhood* is going to deal with the pandemic.

"When Daniel learns he can't gather with all of his neighbors at the Neighborhood Carnival this year, it leads to a lot of big feelings and questions, including what to do when he misses the people he loves, how to keep himself and others healthy and how to find ways to enjoy the extra time at home with his family," according to a stateemnt from PBS Kids.

"Mom and Dad Tiger use new and fan-favorite songs from the series to help reassure him," the statement adds.

The songs are also meant to reassure "young viewers and their parents at home, who are encouraged to sing along."

"As COVID-19 continues to pose challenges to families across the country, PBS Kids is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of children, parents, and caregivers," adds Chief Programming Executive Lesli Rotenberg.

The show aims to help kids learn about what's going on in the world.

"Learning lies at the heart of our mission, and we've been proud to be able to step in and offer at-home learning solutions, content and resources, like this timely special from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, that reach kids where they are with age-appropriate lessons — especially in areas where families may have limited or no access to broadband internet," Lesli said.

On top of the special, five more episodes will cover these kinds of topics.
