I'm not picturing my next lavish purchase, so much as I am deciding whether I can splurge on a drink from Starbucks this week and still be able to afford my rent.

I also understand that, especially now during the current crisis the world is facing, I'm lucky money isn't a bigger issue in my life.

It could always be worse, and so I'm certainly grateful that I'm able to afford what I can.

That is, a roof over my head, clothes on my body, and food in my belly, even if that food is usually sodium-dense packets of Ramen noodles.

Hey, I'm not complaining.

But I will say that I still like to optimistically imagine a future with some form of financial stability.
