In the words of ABBA, "Money, money, money, must be funny, in a rich man's world."
And indeed, it must.
Remember the good ol' days when you lived at home and you didn't have to worry about how much money was in your bank account? Yyour only real concern was whether you'd done enough chores that week for your parents to give you some cash to go to the movies?
Yeah, same.
I'm not picturing my next lavish purchase, so much as I am deciding whether I can splurge on a drink from Starbucks this week and still be able to afford my rent.
You know, those kinds of thoughts.
But I suppose that's just all part and parcel of growing up and becoming financially independent.
Thankfully, I'm mindful enough of my bills and my spending that I haven't run into any real trouble yet (knock on wood).
It could always be worse, and so I'm certainly grateful that I'm able to afford what I can.
That is, a roof over my head, clothes on my body, and food in my belly, even if that food is usually sodium-dense packets of Ramen noodles.
Hey, I'm not complaining.
You know, the kind where your eyes don't bug out of your head when you open the cooler at the grocery store and see how much that place expects you to pay for a block of cheddar cheese.
Like, seriously, was the cow made of gold or something? All I want to do is make nachos and not have to break the bank to live my cheesy, crunchy dreams! Is that too much to ask? Sheesh.
