Helen Mirren is many things — Dame, actress, stage icon, Oscar-winner, and holder of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! She's also, of course, a sex symbol at age 74, which is no small feat. One look at her and you'll understand why — she's a classic beauty!
According to Helen herself, however, it is something that she's confused by, as evidenced by a new interview.
"The great thing about getting older is that you get over all that. You tend to think, ‘Sex symbol? What the [expletive] does that mean?’ There are so many other interesting things to be driven by,” Helen said in an interview with Woman Magazine.
"It’s a fabulous part of life – but it’s only a part, it’s not everything. So I’ll take it, I’m not going to argue with it. But I’m not going to pay attention either," Helen continued.
That seems like the best attitude you can have!
“I wanted to be, you know, a skinny girl in black with a Gitane cigarette – and physically, I just wasn’t. I had to deal with what I had been given genetically, but, at the same time, not allow it to ruin my life,” Helen revealed.
We're glad she never let it stop her!
