Some people may be able to live off meal replacement shakes and be perfectly happy, but I love food and everything about it.

I love the flavors, of course, but also the act of cooking for myself and for others, or the feeling of being cooked for, or the way the chips are all melty in a chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven. Food gives me all those comforting warm fuzzies while also nourishing my body.

Admittedly, I kind of nourish it a bit too much some (all) of the time.

It's just that my first serving of that homemade lasagna with fresh buffalo mozzarella was so good and my taste buds want more.

And when I'm stressed out? Please just lock the fridge, because that feeling of warm fuzzies is going to beckon me and I won't have the willpower to say no.

Sure, but it wouldn't come with the swaddle-like comfort of those banana chocolate chunk muffins stocked in the office kitchen — and we all know those muffins are just cupcakes in disguise.

Living through an unprecedented, worldwide *gestures wildly* right now is certainly not helping my stress levels.

And when I'm stressed there's a part of me that seriously considers making the box of ice cream sandwiches in the freezer into "dinner."

You know what? Considering everything going on in the world, I'm fine with eating my feelings a bit.

We're all doing what we can to stay sane and if sanity requires ordering delivery of 60 mini donuts to my house, eating half of them, and then turning the other half into bread pudding, then I am willing to make that sacrifice.
