Kaley Cuoco Writes Emotional Post For One-Year Anniversary Of 'Big Bang Theory' Series Finale

As crazy as it may seem, it's been more than a year since fans everywhere said their goodbye to The Big Bang Theory, one of the greatest sitcoms of all time.

To pay homage to this incredible milestone, Kaley Cuoco (who played Penny) took to her Instagram to share an incredibly emotional post on the one-year anniversary.

Cue the tears.

*The Big Bang Theory* was one of the most popular shows on TV.

The series focussed on the lives of four extremely intelligent but socially awkward scientists, and their neighbor Penny (played by Cuoco).

All of a sudden, 'smart' was unequivocally the new 'sexy'.

It was on the air for twelve incredible seasons and aired 279 episodes over the course of the series.

With so many classic episodes it's hard to choose a favorite.

The time that Penny gave Sheldon a napkin used by Leonard Nimoy for Christmas is definitely up there...

One year ago, fans said an emotional goodbye to Penny, Leonard, and the rest of the gang.

I still get choked up just thinking about it. Goodbyes suck at the best of times, but this one was just down-right gutwrenching.

To honor the one year anniversary, Kaley shared an incredibly honest and emotional instagram post.

It seems as if the actress has become very introspective over the past year.

It's clear from her comments just how much the show impacted her personally and professionally.

"A year ago today we aired our BBT series finale .. people ask me every day, was it hard to move on?"

Kaley continues, "Was I sad? Happy? How could I do anything else after? How would it compare? Do I miss it?"

"The truth is, the show changed my life in 100 different ways and no matter where my career takes me, I will always owe it to this show and the brains behind it."

CBS

It's crazy to think how much has changed since the airing of that first episode.

“Never forget where you came from, and never take your eyes off where you’re heading.”

Very well said, Kaley.
