Watch Cardi B Skewer Nicki Minaj in Profanity-Laced Instagram Videos

Andrew Roberts 30 Oct 2018

The feud between rap queens Cardi B and Nicki Minaj hopped directly into the fire on Monday, leading to a barrage of verbal shots from each side stemming from an alleged altercation back in September.

Monday's excitement comes on the heels of Minaj's latest episode of her Beats 1 Queen Radio show, citing the incident at the Harper's Bazaar Icons party according to Pitchfork:

"Nicki said that Cardi had been attacked by Rah Ali, a friend of Nicki's who was also Cardi B's co-star on "Love and Hip Hop," rather than hit by security, as had previously been claimed. Nicki said that Rah Ali punched Cardi B in the head "9 or 10 times." Nicki also offered a $100,000 for surveillance footage of what happened that night."

Cardi B initially spoke of this incident back in September according to Pitchfork and video from bystanders made its way online:

“I’ve let a lot of shit slide... You’ve threatened other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop fckin with them!!” Cardi continued, “I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!! But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of daughter is when all bets are fckin off!!”

Tension seemed to be high from here on.

Denials And Scandal

Minaj also denied claims that she leaked Cardi B's phone number and alleged that Cardi influenced her husband, Migos rapper Offset, from working with her according to CNN:

"You can't control your sister, but you want me to control millions of fans," Minaj said. "I've never leaked a number in my life and y'all continue to lie on me to make me look like a bad person."

It was not pretty and soon spilled out on social media with Minaj dropping barbs on Twitter.

Musical Drama

Cardi B also addressed over Minaj's claims about working on their collaboration "Motorsport" and other projects, even pulling out "receipts" she had saved on her phone showing that she had tried to reach out.

What Is The Truth?

This continues for a bit as Cardi outlines the somewhat confusing nature of the music business -- and this rivalry to be honest. Everybody is dropping verses and making guest appearances.

It can be easy to get frustrated.

Payola? Lawsuits??

Cardi then raises the stakes, firing back at Minaj's claims that she wants to sue over the Fashion Week incident by saying she would rather sue over defamation of character according to The Guardian:

“Maybe I should sue you for defamation of character since you wanna claim that I’m using something called payola, because you don’t understand why I’m so f*cking successful"

Disturbing Texts

Cardi then addresses some of the texts she received and that her sister had posted online, sharing screenshots of one of the more disturbing texts, before addressing how Minaj seemed to "endorse" the behavior by liking it on Twitter.

"Now You're Trying To Say That I'm Trying To Stop Your Bag..."

Cardi's rant was not over yet, taking Minaj's claims about their respective fashion deals to task and offering more proof that she was mistaken.

"I'm Actually Helping You..."

This continued with Cardi revealing that she was offered the deal first and turned it down due to her other commitments.

If this seems confusing at this point, it sorta is and you shouldn't feel too bad. The one thing that is clear is how Nicki Minaj truly poked a hornets nest with her Beats 1 show.

Tired Of Talk

To conclude the string of videos, Cardi extends an invitation to Minaj to set up a meeting -- either to talk it out or fight it out -- calling for an end to the mud slinging online in an effort to cut to the core of the situation according to Pitchfork:

“I’m tired of the fucking whole internet shit, I’m tired of the interview shit. If you really wanna talk about it, you know where to link me. ... We can talk about it, or we can fight it out. I’m with whatever.”

Lie Detector Test?

She also wants Minaj to know that she has always showed her love and respect, claiming that Minaj is "fcking up her legacy" by acting like a "fcking hater."

It's all pretty wild and surprising to hear out in the open online, but this seems to be how rivalries continue these days. Sniping across social media.

Minaj responded on Twitter, saying they can get together:

"Get on live & have the convo for the world to see. Do a lie detector test TOGETHER Do an interview on QueenRadio !ORRR we can both sit in a room together, hear a beat for the first time, and have ourselves FILMED WRITING TO IT!!!!!!"

A Truce Is Brokered

Minaj closed out the day by offering a truce on Twitter, accepted later by Cardi B on Instagram. It's almost like magic, right? Poof! It never happened.

Except it did and everything is still online for the world to see. We'll have to wait for the next chapter but there is still plenty for fans to chew on and fight about on their own.

A Possible Venue?

The one good thing is that they do have a venue if they really want to find out the truth.

Nothing like social media branding to place a cherry on top.

Cardi B Strikes Back

Cardi B wasn't about to just sit aside and let this go without comment. The rapper unleashed a ten-video Instagram blast addressing all of the claims made by Minaj on her show and added some claims of her own, namely about Rah Ali throwing the punches at Fashion Week.

"You lie so much you can’t even keep up with your f**king lies."

Leaked Numbers And Proof

Next is the topic of Cardi B's leaked phone number and who truly leaked it out. Cardi claims the number was made available following the altercation at the Harper's Bazaar party and made her own connections for why she believes Minaj's camp is to blame according to The Guardian:

“How come my phone number got leaked one hour after that altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar party?” Cardi B says. “How come everybody that y’all have issues with, y’all have the numbers in your camp and they numbers got leaked?”
