News broke earlier this week that the much speculated about Scarface reboot is officially in the works!
According to Variety, Call Me by Your Name filmmaker Luca Guadagnino will direct the reboot for Universal Pictures.
This new version of Scarface will be a reimagining of the core immigrant story told in both the 1932 and 1983 films, and will be set in Los Angeles.
In response to the news of Luca Guadagnino directing the reboot, one Twitter user wrote: "This is promising news, because maybe now the movie will actually be good."
One Twitter user made this interesting comparison: "The only Tony Montana we are accepting is Al Pacino, nobody asked for a Scarface remake, it would be like redrawing the Mona Lisa."
"Brian De Palma's Scarface is extremely overrated. I bet Luca could do better," suggested one user.
So hey, maybe this reboot will be as praised as the original reboot! You never know!
