Fans Are Calling Kelly Ripa 'Tone-Deaf' For Worrying About Gray Hair During Pandemic

Celebrities often try pretty hard to be seen as relatable to their audiences, even though their experiences aren't very universal. This hasn't changed during the pandemic, although some fans think that it should.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Kelly Ripa has been frequently discussing her fear of going gray on Live With Kelly And Ryan.

On a recent episode, her husband Mark Consuelos told her that “Since I met you, you told me that you’re gray. And I gotta tell you, I see you in the morning and I think it looks beautiful."

"I like it. I’m looking forward to when it’s just completely gray.”

“Which is probably by the end of the week,” Kelly responded, showing her gray roots off. "I’m running out of spray … so yeah, you’ll get to see my gray hair any second now.”

For some fans, they were decidedly over Kelly worrying about her hair during this scary time.

Some fans called her "tone deaf" for complaining about how she looks while there is so much fear and suffering going on in the world right now due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Fans pointed out that while Kelly may be 'suffering' due to her hair, she has an incredibly privileged life.

Ellen DeGeneres was similarly called out for "complaining" despite her privileges, and fans were quick to point out that while celebrities are bored or worried about their hair in their mansions, other people are dying.

Fans were not impressed with Kelly's plight.

Kelly has been updating her followers on Instagram about her gray roots with her regular "root watch" stories, but some fans haven't been enjoying those either, with one commenting, "there's so much more important things happening."

Fans called her complaints "so ridiculous."
