Dog Refuses To Leave His Best Friend's Side, Even While He's Stuck In Time-Out

I'm convinced that dogs are the ultimate "Ride or Die" companions, and this story basically proves that.

When a little boy was sentenced to go stand in the corner of the room with his head pressed against the wall in a time-out, his faithful pup decided to join him to help make his punishment just a little less terrible.

Because if you see your best bud going through something, you don't just stand by and let them go through it alone.

Jillian Marie Smith shared a photo of the heartwarming moment the family's dog joined her son, Peyton, in time-out.

"When you're in time out but your best pal won't let you serve your time alone," she wrote in a Facebook post, which currently has over 51,000 shares and more than 7,000 reactions from amused users.

In the picture, three-year-old Peyton can be seen serving his time-out while his giant mastiff dog, Dash, offers him some much-needed emotional support.

Apparently, Peyton had been getting a little too rough with his younger sister, leading to his time spent in the corner as punishment.

When Smith returned to the room later to check up on her son, she was surprised to see Dash had joined him and the pair were suffering through the miserable time-out together.

“I couldn't be mad long because it was just so cute how Peyton wrapped his arm around Dash,” she told The Dodo. “When Peyton had to go to time-out, I think Dash knew he needed his buddy.”

If it wasn't already obvious, Peyton and Dash have an incredibly strong bond with each other.

“Dash has made life happier for the whole family,” Smith explained, “Most of all, for Peyton. If you ask Peyton, Dash is his buddy.”

As little Peyton continues to grow up and inevitably make mistakes along the way, it's heartwarming to know that Dash will always be there by his side, ready to help him get through whatever punishment comes his way.

If that's not a "Ride or Die," then I don't know what is.
