10+ TV Shows People Should Watch Once In Their Life

Television, historically, has a bad reputation for being a waste of time. Even though the majority of us regale cinema as an art form, TV often falls by the wayside.

Well, I say it's time to shatter that stereotype. There's just as much magic on the small screen as their is in Tinsel Town. In order to prove it, here are 10+ TV shows people should watch once in their lives.

*South Park*

Comedy Central

Don't be fooled by its satirically crude sense of humor.

South Park is one of the most pop-culturally relevant TV shows of all time.

*It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia*.

FX

When it first hit the airwaves, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was described by many critics as "Seinfeld on cocaine."

I couldn't hope to give it a more glowing endorsement.

*Entourage*.

Entourage was one-half sitcom, the other half mockumentary.

It let viewers live vicariously through the antics and lavish lifestyle choices of Vincent Chase and his gang of rag-tag misfits.

*Arrested Development*

Netflix

Everything in Arrested Development is one long-running joke.

You need to get a few episodes under your belt before this starts to become clear. Once it does, you won't be able to stop laughing.

*How I Met Your Mother*

How I Met Your Mother is straight-up LEGEN-wait for it-DARY. LEGENDARY!

Say what you will about the final season, but 1-8 is pure TV gold!

*Dexter*

Showtime

Dexter has maybe the most intriguing plotline ever. It's a show about a serial killer who only kills serial killers!

Also, if you couldn't already tell, Michael C. Hall is positively smoldering.

*Community*

Why should you watch Community, you ask? Because it just might be the greatest television show of all time.

"Six seasons and a movie!"

*Boardwalk Empire*

HBO

If you ever wanted to experience what life during the prohibition years was really like, then Boardwalk Empire is the show for you.

This period piece drama was spearheaded by Martin Scorsese.

*Scrubs*

Scrubs was an emotional coin toss. At any given moment you never knew whether or not you'd begin laughing hysterically or sobbing uncontrollably.

Side note: Dr. Bob Kelso might be the greatest TV character of all time.

*The Sopranos*

HBO

The Sopranos was the show that started it all. The original HBO adult drama was nothing short of revolutionary. It has cemented itself as one of the greatest TV shows of all time.

*The Simpsons*

FOX

Is there a soul alive who hasn't seen at least one episode of The Simpsons? If there is and you happen to be reading this, please do the world a favor and watch this animated gem.

*Breaking Bad*

In its prime, there wasn't a show that could compete with Breaking Bad.

It was dark, gritty, disturbing, but above all, it was incredibly emotional and character-driven. Bryan Cranston gives the performance of his career in this one.

*Parks & Recreation*.

What I am about to say is not going to be easy for you to hear.

Nevertheless, it most definitely needs to be said: Parks & Recreation is a better show than The Office.

*Gilmore Girls*

CW

Gilmore Girls is one of the most important and impactful shows of the '00s.

It is the crown jewel that adorns the CW crown.

*Sons Of Anarchy*

FX

What do you get when you cross a Shakespearean tragedy with a California biker club? The answer is Sons of Anarchy.

One of the greatest neo-noir television series of all time.
