New hair, who dis?
After Selma shaved her hair off last summer due to her battle with multiple sclerosis, it's come back in a bigger β and darker β way.
The Legally Blonde actress was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease in August 2018.
That's because it took so long for doctors to take her symptoms seriously, she revealed in an interview with Good Morning America.
But that's not to say that the road there has been easy.
Just last July, for instance, she had to be separated from her son due to health reasons.
"I need this boy to see me do things I never thought I could. And I will do my best. It really is gratitude."
When she was discharged, she posted a celebratory picture on Instagram, calling it her "banner day."
When a fan asked why that was, she revealed that she had lost her hair due to chemotherapy treatments.
"I cut my hair short to transition myself and my son for impending baldness," she wrote.
When this happened, she shaved it because βit looked too sad.β
She's teaching us to embrace our hair, regardless of whether it's short, long, brown, or gray.
βI will see how a pixie grows in. Or I will buzz again. It seems to be too much to have long hair again. So I will leave it short and grey, something I have never before wanted to do.β
Here's a hint: it's out with the salt-and-pepper and back in with the brown!
The new look puts her in good company with the many other celebs who have been changing up their hair while in quarantine.
"LOVE LOVE LOVE you as a brunette," added another.
Thankfully, Selma handled the comment with a classy reply:
"good evening. I went through #hsct to halt the progression of demyelination one brain and spinal cord. It is common to grow back hair a different color after chemo. Which was part of the bone marrow type of transplant."
And also any length!
We're wishing her all the best as she continues on her journey to recovery!
