Jane Fonda Is Reviving Her '80s Workout Videos On Social Media

There seems to be only three things people are doing during this time: Baking banana bread, watching Tiger King, or joining TikTok. That's it. Those are the only options.

Jane Fonda opted for the latter, in the best possible way.

I'm gonna level with you guys. I've been pretty bored the last couple of weeks.

I am deep into quarantine and the activity options in my apartment are becoming used up and tired.

But I can now say with absolute confidence, that even though I've reached new frightening levels of boredom, things are starting to turn around.

Jane, 82, has joined TikTok, and she brought back her '80s workout videos!

Well, sort of.

You know the ones...

Jane's first video starts off welcoming all of her fans to her official TikTok page, with the caption: “Google me.”

The video starts off as you might imagine.

Classic '80s workout video content — lots of leg lifts.

But then she abruptly stops and the scene shifts to her addressing something else...

“There are too many workouts happening right now on television and on computers," she says, asking fans to join her on Fridays instead for "Fire Drill Fridays".

“Workout with me for the planet," she said — referencing her role as a climate activist.

So, unfortunately Jane isn't ACTUALLY bringing back her workout videos. But she's doing something much more important: Saving the planet.

Before the coronavirus changed life as we know it, Jane was regularly leading protests in Washington D.C.

Since she can't exactly lead in-person protests for the time being, she is taking a different approach.

She is holding virtual rallies via TikTok every Friday instead.

"Welcome to the first virtual edition of Fire Drill Fridays!," she captioned her video last Friday.

"Now more than ever, we need to come together to support each other and push for the healthy world we want to see."

"We do not have the luxury of fighting COVID-19 and the climate crisis separately," she wrote.

"We DO, however have the power to come together in this moment of disruption and create the new, green world we have been dreaming of ".

"One that puts people and planet over corporate greed and profit at all cost."

"We might be alone at home, but we are in this TOGETHER!," she added.

She then thanked everyone who has been doing their part by staying home and practicing social distancing, and participating in the rallies from their homes.

"Thank you for weathering the technical difficulties today and staying home and taking action with us in the virtual streets!"

"We couldn’t do it without you," she concluded.

So, there you have it.

Her videos weren't exactly the hilarious '80s nostalgia you were probably hoping for, so I apologize for that.

But kudos to her for continuing to fight the good fight, despite being stuck inside.

Coronavirus can't stop Jane Fonda from leading the charge, protecting our planet!
