Leonardo DiCaprio Launches A $12 Million Coronavirus Relief Fund

As Mister Rogers always said, in times of crisis it's so important that we look for the helpers. There are tons of people out there doing good work every day, and it's important we take some time to focus on them to remind us that there is hope and there definitely are some good people in the world.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.

Leonardo DiCaprio has done some good by launching a $12 million relief fund for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

On his Instagram, Leo wrote, "In the face of this crisis, organizations like World Central Kitchen and Feeding America have inspired us all with their unwavering commitment to feed the most vulnerable people in need. "

"I thank them for their tireless work on the frontlines, they deserve all of our support."

"Today, along with Laurene Powell Jobs, @Apple and the @fordfoundation, we helped launch America’s Food Fund. The Fund is designed to help our most vulnerable, including children who rely on school lunch programs, low-income families, the elderly, and individuals facing job disruptions," he continued.

Leo then explained where the money would be going.

"100% of donations will go to @FeedingAmerica and @WCKitchen. We know that asking for monetary donations is challenging for many people right now, but if you are able, please join me in donating at: GoFundMe.com/AmericasFoodFund."

They've already earned some big donations, including from Oprah.

Feeding America were incredibly grateful for Leonardo's work.

"Your voice and gift is going to make a difference for millions of our neighbors as we face this unprecedented challenge together. Thank you," they replied on Instagram.

What an awesome thing for Leo to do!
