His father taught him how to wrestle crocodiles.

At the tender age of nine, Steve Irwin had already become accustomed to wrestling giant crocodiles.

He once fed his son and a crocodile at the same time!

As crazy as it sounds, yes - Steve Irwin fed a crocodile while holding his baby boy, Robert.

As you can imagine, this was met with a myriad of controversies.

Apparently there is a species of snail as well as a snapping turtle that shares the Irwin name.

Her namesake, Bindi, however, was the name of one of Steve's most beloved crocs.

Steve's parents owned a small plot of land with a reptile park. From the time he was a baby, Steve was exposed to animals.

As an adult, Steve bought and expanded upon the land. Today, it is simply known as The Australian Zoo.
