Chrissy Teigen Trades Banana Bread For Lettuce In Hilarious Social Distancing Exchange

Forget Pawn Stars or Dragon's Den — Chrissy Teigen just proved that she's a master negotiator.

The TV personality just managed to pull off the deal of a lifetime: her banana bread for lettuce from one of her followers.

In case you've needed some comedic relief during the coronavirus pandemic, Chrissy Teigen has your back.

On Monday, the mom and model put out a tweet asking her 12.5 million followers if they wanted to trade romaine lettuce for her famous banana bread.

The 'Cravings' cookbook author was clearly having a *craving* for lettuce (not that I can relate at *all*, as I we crave normal things like pizza and Krispy Cream donuts, but anyways).

Lots of people jumped at the chance to do the trade, like this person who got Teigen to admit that she hadn't even made the banana bread yet.

Then came along YouTuber Chris Klemens who even sweetened the deal by posing with the lettuce.

"I have three studio city," he wrote. It's Trader Joe's romaine hearts, a package that comes with three heads of lettuce.

Chrissy Teigen salivates

Chrissy was intrigued by Chris's offer, but as any smart business woman would, she asked for proof that the lettuce was fresh.

I, personally have a whole photo album of me and romaine lettuce, so I understand her concerns completely.

Thankfully, Chris obliged with Chrissy's request to provide proof as he responded with a video.

"Hi, Mrs. Teigen," he began, all serious. "Here's the three, he said while posing once again next to the lettuce.

To confirm the date, he held up his watch and said that it's "Monday, the 23."

Chris's video was enough proof for the star.

"Ok Chris. I trust you. Let me make this bread and I’ll be in your area tomorrow early afternoon!!" she tweeted.

But then, tragedy struck.

Since Chris would only be getting half a banana bread (greedy, John Legend, ugh), Teigen offered to throw in a slice of pie.

Chris soon responded. "Am I... fighting with John Legend over banana bread?? Lmfao yes that is fine."

"Wait I sent this before the pie tweet... we want pie," he tweeted after.

Clearly, an expert negotiator!!

BTW, fans were living for this interaction between Chrissy and Chris.

"this is the most exciting thing that’s happened to me during the quarantine."

Same, girl, SAME.

In preparation for the big meeting, Teigen spent the day in the kitchen baking up a ton of treats.

The next day, Chris woke up feeling like a winner.

"Woke up today and said 'okay Chris, let’s get this bread,'" he tweeted.

Chrissy, expert negotiator that she is, even managed to slide in a few more trades.

When a fan wanted to know why Teigen wasn't free until 3:30 p.m., Teigen revealed that since Chris is vegan, she ordered him vegan food. SO SWEET.

"@ChrisKlemens making out like a bandit in this," she hilariously tweeted.

Teigen kept fans all up-to-date on the lead-up to the exchange.

She shared a video of their meeting spot, which was at a church parking lot in Studio City

Then came the moment fans were waiting for. Using what I can only assume is Miles or Luna's toy car, the lettuce was exchanged first.

"Check it John, check it," Teigen said to her husband immediately after the toy car rolled towards them.

They even used measuring tape to ensure they were keeping a safe six-feet distance.

Next up was the goods for Chris, which included half a loaf of banana bread, two pieces of pie, and a bottle of wine.

But most of all, Chris walked away with a new friendship with the celeb couple as Teigen later shared a picture of the foursome at a careful distance apart.

"It was so hard not to hug you both @andrewlowe @ChrisKlemens," she wrote.
