What 12 Horror Movie Villains Look Like IRL

There's nothing like a good scary movie, right? The spooky setting, the creepy music...it's all so much fun!

While all those little aspects play vital roles in making a horror movie frightening, the thing that really haunts an audience is the villain.

Luckily, these celebs are far from looking like the villains they play.

Villains can truly make or break a movie. That's just a fact.

Marvel

Any hero has to go up against someone who challenges their beliefs; that's what makes a good story.

But horror movies don't always rely on stories. Sometimes they just want scary villains.

Horror movies are obviously filled with tons of scary villains that haunt us in our dreams.

This villain could be a ghost, ghoul, or goblin.

Whatever they may be, one thing's for sure — they're absolutely terrifying!

But have you ever wondered what the people behind the menacing monster makeup look like in real life?

Well, wonder no more!

We've gone ahead and collected some of the most memorable creeps in horror movie history, and found out what they really look like!

1. Samara from *The Ring*

IMDb | IMDb

Daveigh Chase was the creepy little girl who played Samara in 2002's The Ring.

Thankfully, Daveigh Chase looks way friendlier than her villain counterpart.

Though she was climbing out of television sets back in the day, the up-and-coming model may be traversing the covers of fashion magazines in the near future.

So, keep a look out for her!

2. The Alien from *Alien*

IMDb | IMDb

Bolaji Badejo was the lucky man picked to portray the titular Alien in 1979.

As you can see, walking around everyday on set in this skeletal suit must've been a pain in the neck (literally).

3. Leatherface from *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre*

IMDb | IMDb

In 1974, casting agents hired Gunnar Hansen to play Leatherface in their upcoming horror flick, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and, wow, what a perfect pick they made.

While this spooky piece of cinematic history still stands the test of time, many fans of the film may not know that Leatherface actually looks quite put together in real life.

And thank goodness for that.

4. Freddy Krueger from *A Nightmare on Elm Street*

IMDb | IMDb

Robert Englund has been creeping folks out since the '80s as the unforgettable Freddy Krueger.

If anything, he is one of the most famous villains of all time, be it horror movie or otherwise.

He's been one of the few Hollywood monster men to sculpt out an entire career around a horror franchise.

He probably never has to work again.

Kudos to you, Krueger!

5. Pennywise from *It*

IMDb | IMDb

Bill SkarsgÄrd as the latest Pennywise in the recent revamp of Stephen King's It is next-level startling.

But thankfully, Bill looks nothing like his horror movie villain counterpart.

What's even more shocking is how the dude looks in his regular, day-to-day life.

These two don't even look like they could be the same person. That's nuts!

6. Pinhead from *Hellraiser*

IMDb | IMDb

Doug Bradley can thank the writers and creators of the Hellraiser films for allowing him to play the epic Pinhead for the entirety of the series.

I bet the makeup process behind this get-up must've taken forever. Yikes...

7. Ghostface from *Scream*

IMDb | IMDb

Many '90s kids remember this awesome horror movie.

The Ghostface mask, made popular by the man underneath it (Skeet Ulrich), is still one of the most bought Halloween costumes each year.

Dare I say it, but the man under the mask is *handsome*.

But make no mistake, handsome or not, if someone in a mask comes after you, run as if your life depends on it (because it likely does).

8. Regan MacNeil from *The Exorcist*

IMDb | IMDb

Many attribute their first nightmares to this classic spooky feature.

Linda Blair, as the possessed Regan MacNeil, had audiences' hearts racing from beginning to end.

9. Pale Man from *Pan's Labyrinth*

IMDb | IMDb

There are plenty of scary things to point out in Pan's Labyrinth, but the character that shook us the most was Pale Man, played by Doug Jones.

He looks way different in real life. We can hardly believe our eye-hands!

Raise your hand if you were ever haunted by his horror movie look!!!

10. Kayako from *The Grudge*

IMDb | IMDb

Takako Fuji was the one responsible for making moviegoers jump in terror during The Grudge back in 2004.

Nice to see that she's cleaned up and not creepily crawling down stairs anymore...

11. Jason Voorhees from *Friday the 13th* (Parts 7-10)

IMDb | IMDb

While other actors have filled the many-holed mask of Jason Voorhees in the past, many argue that Kane Hodder's interpretation of the murderer was the best.

What do you think, horror fans?

12. The Predator from *Predator*, 1 and 2

IMDb | IMDb

Kevin Peter Hall is the man responsible for making those awesome Predator movies what they are today!

Personally, I was never able to watch these movies...

The way Kevin was able to flawlessly embody the essence of a bloodthirsty creature was phenomenal.

We still can't believe there was actually a person inside there the whole time!

Which horror movie villain is your favorite?

Personally, I can't watch horror movies with my eyes open, but tons of people love them.
