While all those little aspects play vital roles in making a horror movie frightening, the thing that really haunts an audience is the villain.
Luckily, these celebs are far from looking like the villains they play.
Any hero has to go up against someone who challenges their beliefs; that's what makes a good story.
But horror movies don't always rely on stories. Sometimes they just want scary villains.
This villain could be a ghost, ghoul, or goblin.
Whatever they may be, one thing's for sure — they're absolutely terrifying!

We've gone ahead and collected some of the most memorable creeps in horror movie history, and found out what they really look like!
Daveigh Chase was the creepy little girl who played Samara in 2002's The Ring.
Thankfully, Daveigh Chase looks way friendlier than her villain counterpart.
So, keep a look out for her!
Bolaji Badejo was the lucky man picked to portray the titular Alien in 1979.
As you can see, walking around everyday on set in this skeletal suit must've been a pain in the neck (literally).
In 1974, casting agents hired Gunnar Hansen to play Leatherface in their upcoming horror flick, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and, wow, what a perfect pick they made.
And thank goodness for that.
Robert Englund has been creeping folks out since the '80s as the unforgettable Freddy Krueger.
If anything, he is one of the most famous villains of all time, be it horror movie or otherwise.
