'Game Of Thrones' Actor Max Von Sydow Has Died

Max von Sydow, a Swedish-born French actor with a 65-year career, has passed away at the age of 90, Deadline confirms.

A statement from von Sydow's wife also confirmed the news.

“It is with a broken heart and with infinite sadness that we have the extreme pain of announcing the departure of Max von Sydow, on March 8, 2020,” she said in the statement.

Von Sydow is most recently known for his role as the Three-Eyed Raven in HBO's 'Game of Thrones.'

He also played Lor San Tekka in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Von Sydow was most well known for his work in The Seventh Seal and as Emperor Ming in Flash Gordon.

Von Sydow received a Golden Globe nomination for his work as Father Lankester Merrin in 'The Exorcist.'

Von Sydow had also been nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor for Pelle the Conqueror and Best Supporting Actor for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

Von Sydow was 90 at the time of his death.
