You might think that all children of celebrities have pretty cushy lives, especially those that have inherited large sums of money from their wealthy families.
Marie Osmond is making sure that that's not the case for her children.

Marie Osmond Isn't Leaving Any Money To Her Children When She Dies: 'Let Them Be Proud Of What They Make'

Marie has had a successful country music career, as well as a three year run on the iconic variety show Donny & Marie with her brother Donny Osmond. Since last year, Marie has been a host on The Talk.
On a recent episode of 'The Talk,' Marie revealed that despite having seven kids, she's not planning on giving any of them a handout.

"I'm not leaving any money to my children," Marie said on the show. "Congratulations, kids!" She joked.
"My husband and I decided, I think you do a great disservice to your children to just hand them a fortune."

"You take away the one most important gift you can give your children, and that's the ability to work," Marie went on to say.
"You see it a lot in rich families," Marie continued.

"Where the kids, they don't know what to do and so they get in trouble," she said. Marie then revealed what she does plan to do with her money when she passes.
"Let them be proud of what they make, and I'm going to give mine to charity."

That's certainly a noble cause, although it might not be a popular decision with Marie's children!
Kirk Douglas, who recently passed away at 103, also left his fortune to charity, although his children were all grown up and successful in their own right by that time.
Not all of her co-hosts were on her side.
Sheryl Underwood didn't agree with Marie's philosophy, stating quite plainly, "I disagree with that. When you come from a family of money, you raise your children to value money and to understand money."
"Because they were born into the family, they should have a healthy respect for money."
Sheryl continued, saying, "I would love to have some type of money left for me from somebody else so I can have a leg up."
"I think when wealthy people say, 'I'm not leaving my kids anything,' well, they've been living this great life."
Fellow cohost Sharon Osbourne also chimed in, discussing her husband Ozzy's wealth and what it means for their children.
"Listen, everybody is different," she started, making it clear that she also didn't agree with Marie's decision.
"I just know that my husband’s body of work, that he’s written, and kept us all in the lifestyle that we love, goes to my children."
“And his name and likeness goes to my children," Sharon added, "because you leave your name and likeness, and I don’t want someone that never met my husband owning his name and likeness, and selling t-shirts everywhere and whatever."
"No, it stays in the Osbourne family."
