8+ Celebs Who Stayed Friends After A Breakup

Breakups in Hollywood are never easy.

When kids — and the spotlight — are involved, a lot of celebs have to keep things as friendly as possible.

Others, however, remained friends just 'cause.

Here are 10+ celebs who stayed friends after a messy breakup.

1. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston

The friendship between the two A-listers didn't happen overnight.

As we all know, a friendship was pretty much non-existant after Brad left Jen for Angelina Jolie in 2005.

Now that the couple famously got divorced in 2016, however, it made it possible for a friendship between Brad and Jen to reform again.

Brad even attended two parties of Jens: her 50th birthday and her December 2019 holiday bash, according to People.

After they were photographed looking flirtatious at the SAG awards, fans were hungrier than ever for a romantic reunion.

2. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield

Since it's obvious they're not getting back together (Stone is currently engaged to SNL writer/director, Dave McCary), we'll settle for them being friends.

When Emma won her 2017 Golden Globe for Best Actress, Andrew even gave her a standing ovation.

So precious.

3. Angelina Jolie And Billy Bob Thornton

What breakup?

When Billy Bob released his memoir, The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts, Jolie penned the foreword.

She described him as the man who “can make you laugh until your face hurts.”

4. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr

It took some time, but this former pair is finally in a good place.

A huge reason for this is the fact that both exes have moved on. Kerr married Snapchat founder, Evan Spiegel and Bloom is now engaged to Katy Perry.

Win-win.

5. Heidi Klum and Seal

You'll probably notice a theme here: kids help celebs stay friends after messy breakups.

They don't do it just for their kids, though, as Heidi Klum once invited Seal to guest-judge on America's Got Talent.

6. Demi Moore and Bruce Willis

They're connected for life through their three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Talluleh.

However, this former Hollywood pair doesn't need kids to keep them close; they will support each other no matter what.

Willis was at Moore’s 2005 wedding to Ashton Kutcher. Then, Moore returned the friendly favor by attending Willis’ 2019 vow renewal ceremony to wife Emma Heming.

Most recently, Willis was at the release party of Moore's memoir, "Inside Out."

7. Gwyneth Paltrow And Chris Martin

First, they made conscious uncoupling a thing, and now, they're totally redefining what it means to be friends with an ex.

This past summer, Paltrow and her new husband, Brad Falchuk, hung out with Chris Martin and his girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, in the Hamptons!

"We are like best friends," Lopez said on "Today" about her relationship with Anthony.

Marc is also on good terms with A-Rod, J-Lo's fiance.

He's even invited to their upcoming nuptials!

8. Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas

These former Disney stars aren't just friends after dating, they're like family.

At least, that's what Joe Jonas said when talking to E! News in 2016.

Lovato even wished Joe and his now-wife Sophie a huge congrats on their engagement.

9. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony

They were married for a decade but sadly called it quits in 2014. However, not even divorce could put a wedge between this former pair.

They have to be a united front for their twins, Emme and Max, after all.

Sounds awkward, yes, however, Paltrow adores the 30-year-old actress.

She's also in a great place with Chris.

"We’ve learned how to communicate with each other. We love each other. We laugh. We have the best of each other. It’s really nice. It makes you feel like you don’t have to lose," she told Harper's Bazaar about the Coldplay singer earlier this year.

10. Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak

Kelly and Ryan I mean, Mindy and BJ, are just friends, much to the dismay of fans rooting for them.

They dated on-and-off during 2005–2007 after meeting as writers on The Office in 2004.

"I will freely admit: My relationship with B.J. Novak is weird as hell," Kaling told "InStyle" magazine.

"He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend. I guess you could describe our relationship as a 'romantically charged camaraderie with loud arguments,' but I don't think Facebook would accept this as a new status."
