Disney Is Making A Sequel To 'Aladdin'

It looks like Disney really is trying to stay one jump ahead — after the live action Aladdin was such a huge hit, it only makes sense for them to try to continue the story somehow!

'Aladdin' came out in 2019, and although people's expectations varied, it was a huge hit.

Sure, people had been a little bit put off by the initial appearance of Will Smith's Genie, but after all was said and done, Aladdin was the ninth highest grossing film of 2019, so they definitely did something right!

Good news if you're one of the fans who loved it — a sequel is in the works!

As Variety has reported, a sequel to Aladdin is in early developments. Variety confirms that producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are back on to produce this film as well.

It's so far not guaranteed that the cast will be returning.

Since the script isn't ready yet, no offers have been made to Will Smith, Mena Massoud, or Naomi Scott just yet. It's also not known yet if director Guy Ritchie will return.

Are you excited?!

Is this going to be a fantastic story, or will this join the long-standing Disney legacy of direct-to-DVD sequels that... don't quite hold up? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
