Brad Pitt Had An 'Awkward' Response When A Reporter Asked Him About Maddox

Brad Pitt has been having a good year, at least as far as his career is concerned.

From starring in the critically acclaimed Ad Astra to winning both the Golden Globe AND the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, it's been a good time for Brad Pitt's professional career, although he's been notoriously private about his personal life.

Brad Pitt and his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, separated in August of 2014.

The two share six children together — Maddox, 18, Zahara, 15, Pax, 16, Shiloh, 13, Vivienne, 11, and Knox, 11.

While Angelina is often photographed with or interviewed about their children, Brad is less public about his personal life.

It has been reported that Brad and Maddox have a particularly strained relationship, due to an alleged incident on a family trip that has not been confirmed.

Brad and Maddox have not been seen together in public in a few years.

While the report on their relationship has not been confirmed, a reporter did ask Maddox, who is currently away at school in South Korea, if his father would be visiting him on campus. Maddox replied, "I don't know about that."

When asked whether his relationship with Brad was over for good, Maddox responded "Whatever happens, happens."

Aside from this brief interaction, neither Maddox or Brad have spoken publicly about their allegedly strained relationship.

However, Brad does not shy away from mentioning his children in general.

During Brad's Oscar acceptance speech, Brad did dedicate his award to his children, which may have been what prompted a reporter to ask him about Maddox directly.

Speaking about Maddox, the reporter asked "What's his review of 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood'?"

Brad seemed caught off guard by the question and stammered before answering that he "keeps that indoors." You can watch the moment for yourself here.

"Awkwarddddd," one fan commented on the video.

Some fans think the reporter was out of line to ask about his children, but others believe that it was fair game since he had mentioned them in his speech.

People were not impressed with his response.

Some people were confused by what it was he was even trying to say — that his private life was private, or that he keeps his children literally indoors?

A lot of fans were remarking about how uncomfortable the video is.

It's definitely clear that Brad was not expecting to be asked about Maddox so directly, or he would've had a cleaner response ready!

Some people were on Brad's side, however.

Some people think that Brad's answer was just trying to keep his relationship with any of his kids out of the media.

What do you think?
