Clever Plates Reveal Hidden 'Paintings' When Soy Sauce Is Added

3D printing is gaining in popularity. There are so many cool things now being created using this technology. There's even 3D printed food. I dunno about that but what if you could still have fun with food?

Well, now you can thanks to this awesome plate design that reveals hidden "paintings" when you pour soy sauce over it. Check it out and see how interesting it looks.

A Japanese design studio created this unique feature in their soy sauce side dish that only becomes "activated" when you pour soy sauce over it.

Isn't this fantastic?

For only ¥ 1,080 which is the equivalent of $10, you can get one of ReDeStu's porcelain soy sauce dishes that will reveal fun scenery, objects, or even animal characters.

So cute!

Wow, talk about having an interactive experience with your food, huh?

Doesn't that sound fun to you? I think I would like to see that at my favorite Japanese restaurant.

As 3D printing technology is expanding, it's becoming more affordable for companies and even individuals to acquire such machines.

And only the future will tell how far the designs will go.

Some of the current designs you can order from ReDeStu are Japanese national symbols such as Mount Fuji and the Itsukushima Shrine.

There are also cute animal designs with doggies and kitties.

When 3D printing first came out, it mainly used plastic as the material of choice.

Nowadays there are a lot more options such as ceramic, gold, silver, titanium or gypsum.

Isn't that so cool?

I mean a lot of these products look exactly like the real thing. I'm totally baffled about this new technology and I'm curious to see more.

If you're a fan of Japanese food, I think this is such a fun experience you can add to your culinary journey.

After all who wants a boring meal?

I think this would also make for a great gift for someone.

Imagine their surprise when they receive it and then find out what they can do with it?

What do you think of 3D technology?

Are you excited to see what else is in store when it comes to this? Or do you think this is too much?
