Guys, major PSA alert:
There may be some major beef going on with Sarah Hyland and Modern Family.
When a fan asked about her character's absence this season, she threw some major shade.
When she started out, she was a whiny brat who only thought about herself and rarely looked beyond what was right in front of her.
Which makes sense, considering we met her when she was only 16!
She has gone from a silly teenager all the way to being a loving mother!
There have been ups and downs (like the time she got arrested), but all that goes into making her character better and better as time goes on.
She has a job she loves, children she loves, a man that she loves, and the same family that she has always loved.
A lot goes into making a show and writing a script, but we have to give credit where credit is due, too.
The actress was just 16 when she first appeared on the Emmy award-winning series.
The actress recently spoke to E! at the 2020 SAG awards about how she's handling the show ending — and to reveal which cast member has been crying the most.
When asked about the "emotional level" on set, she revealed that the person who can't stop crying isn't even a castmember!
She "can't stop crying. I love you, Jess!" Sarah laughed.
"We finish at the end of February so we have a whole month, it's fine. We have time."
In the episode, titled "Legacy," Sarah's TV dad, Phil Dunphy (played by Ty Burrell) visited his dad Frank (Fred Willard) after Phil was worried that he was suffering from dementia.
“My dad was okay, and my takeaway from our day was, don’t miss the chance to let the people you appreciate know that," Phil said in the show's eulogy.
We're still not over it.
“I don’t read scripts of episodes of Modern Family that I’m not in, so I just found out that my grandpa’s dead along with all of you,” she said on her Instagram Story.
“I guess I should’ve put a spoiler alert for Grandpa Frank dying, but I was just caught off-guard. Like, as his granddaughter, you think I’d be invited to his funeral.”
She also threw some recently while answering fan questions about the show's final season.
It all started when a fan tweeted: "Why has Haley been missing from so many episodes of ‘Modern Family” this season?"
Sarah's character Hayley welcomed twins, Poppy and George, in the season 10 finale last year. She had them with her husband, Dylan Marshall (Reid Ewing).
They criticized the Emmy-winning show for what they've done to Haley's character.
They continued: "A few seasons ago she was gonna be this bad fashion [expletive], she wasn’t dumb, she found her thing and was going to be successful doing what she loved. Now they just dumbed her all the way down again."
Another simply said, "they’ve done your character so dirty."
"the shadeeee," one tweeted.
Haley not getting the screentime she deserves has even led to some fans calling for a Haley spin-off.
As we all know from our own families, this means that things won't always be smooth-sailing.
And why should it? Life would be way too boring.
The final episode of Modern Family airs on April 8.
