'Mindhunter' Cast Released From Their Contracts, Series Put On Hold

Oh yes. It seems that one of Netflix's most compelling TV shows has been put on hold.

You may love it more than any other show, but unfortunately, it doesn't matter how you feel.

It's not canceled, but we have no idea when the third season will be coming to Netflix.

Yes, you read that title correctly.

Netflix

Not just any hold either. Brace yourselves, dear readers and Mindhunter fans, because this one might just break your heart. Please, do your best not to feint.

Mindhunter... has been put on "indefinite hold".

But why, Netflix? Why would you do this to us?

Netflix

Turns out this isn't poppa Netflix's fault at all, but rather producer Uncle David Fincher's fault.

He's in the middle of making a movie about the Citizen Kane screenwriter.

(A movie which sounds pretty decent).

Netflix

But that means he's too busy to make another season of Mindhunter.

This means, like the first to second season, we might have a long wait between the second and the third.

So you don't believe me, huh? In denial, I see. Well, here's the official statement from Netflix:

Netflix

"[Fincher] is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots."

"He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn't fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own."

Man, this sucks.
