20+ Times The World Threw Curveballs

Sometimes, life can be a confusing and tense roller-coaster. And since I've never really liked roller-coasters, this analogy is pretty much perfect.

After all, there are definitely days where you can find 50 bucks on the ground, get yelled at by some rando on the street, and pet a nice dog while a car splashes you all in the same hour.

And just when you finally think you're figuring out how to feel about all of that, something like these odd situations can cross your path.

1. We can blame this driver for getting drenched all we want, but I know I've had days where a 1% chance of rain turned into this.

Reddit | awahoski35

The decision not to pull over and put the top up, though? That's foolish pride, I'll give you that.

2. Super impressed that this thing is still standing. Honestly, at first I thought it was just a bad panorama shot.

Reddit | ExE6

But am I the only one who thinks that a strong wind is going to wreck this?

3. Uh...what? You might not give birth to a watermelon if you eat the seeds, but that's apparently not true for whatever flower this is.

Reddit | Dem_Wrist_Rockets

Wait a minute — you'd better not tell me that somebody wrecked an egg just to make an "eggplant" pun.

Y'all out of control.

4. You thought the revelation that dinosaurs had feathers was the biggest discovery of our time? Think again, cowboy.

Reddit | axbycz0

Thanks to Professor Andy's findings, we've also learned that the great Tyrannosaurus rex was actually very nice and more than a little nervous.

Also, a really passionate gamer.

5. Apparently, this is what happens when you leave a box full of crayons in a car during a Texan heat wave.

Reddit | Scaulbylausis

And considering it formed this kinda cool brick instead of a majestic rainbow puddle, the car probably wasn't even that hot.

Yikes.

6. Right? I am so sick of these giant squirrels!

Reddit | SlowMagenta

Well, I'm sick of the giant squirrels who keep breaking into cars.

I want to hug all of the other giant squirrels.

7. Seeing this strange face makes me wonder whether there's a ghostly cloud version of a wrong number.

Poor Mufasa spent all this energy to tell Simba to remember who he is, only to find out he was talking to a cab driver in Brooklyn all along.

8. Well, at least this cat is giving them an early warning about what's probably gonna happen to their furniture when they get home.

Reddit | MochnessLonster

"Did you really think a little cardboard box was gonna hold me? I almost found a way out of the cage, you know."

9. Uh-oh. I'm not sure what the mail truck did to anger this pupper, but you can bet it's gonna learn tomorrow.

Reddit | Jusko892

Fido here probably won't even give the poor driver a chance to stop before they're rooting around in the back looking for snacks.

10. You know, I wasn't into the idea of a modern-day Hercules reboot at first, but this concept art for the Traffic Hydra is dope.

I can't wait to see the Starbucks Medusa.

11. I can't be the only one who wants to see what kind of big adventures this little lizard is about to get up to.

Reddit | joshnix

It's almost enough to make want to go outside when I have nothing to do instead of barricading myself inside like normal.

12. I'm really curious to know whether the people who live in this area find their silent hand guardian disturbing or oddly comforting.

Reddit | GingaNinjaCat

It's like some artist wanted to make us all understand how J. Jonah Jameson could possibly see Spider-Man as a menace.

13. Well, I guess we now know what would happen if Sid from Toy Story actually grew up to work at a toy company.

Yeah, I think I speak for all of us when I say we're better off now that he's the world's happiest garbage man.

14. If this guy wasn't sent here to fix this, I think I'll just end up with more questions than when I started.

Reddit | Armadillogan

Did he go into the ladies' room just to wreck the sink? Would he show us all evidence of such a brutal crime?

15. I'm lucky enough to have never attending a wedding where somebody objected, but I'm not lucky enough to go to one where a dog did it.

Reddit | ladybeaverhausen

"She can't marry this guy! He never once called me a good boy the entire time we've known each other."

16. I guess there's a sort of logic here. Since Jesus was a carpenter, somebody thought it was only fitting to make him into a chair.

Twitter | @scixpmas

It's well-intentioned, but if you showed Gordon Ramsay a meal that looked like him, he'll probably still call you a donkey.

17. Totally understandable. I thought the exact same thing for a second.

Reddit | heshotcyrus

Uh, forget combining stripes. You need to combine your selfies with better angles so it doesn't look like you're standing on stilts.

18. I don't know what this person did, but I hope they learn something from their brush with total annihilation.

Reddit | marianep2001

Nothing makes you feel like a jerk quite like making someone so mad that they want to do this, but they're too noble to go for it.

19. This one took me a second. I wondered where his other leg was, I wondered why he was hugging a tree with a shoe on it, and...

Then I just felt shameful of my inflexible body.

20. Ah, there we go. With a few simple repairs, this tire looks brand-new, doesn't it?

Reddit | Whitlow14

And just take a look at that magnificent tape job! Now that this problem is solved, the tire should hold together for a solid five minutes.

21. Yeah, there's nothing better than keeping the phone out of the shot and keeping a monster lens in it.

Instagram | @will_ent

And don't worry, I can personally attest that you're not the only one who immediately said, "It's not a lens?"

...It's a soap and paper towel dispenser, if you're still struggling.

22. Oh look, it's me trying to get home after working 14 hours straight.

Reddit | MachoTaco24

Either that, or there is a police officer parked nearby rubbing his hands together at all the tickets he's gonna write today.

23. So, I can't help but wonder if this was a prop from the canceled sequel to Dumb & Dumber where Harry and Lloyd actually got their act together.

Reddit | LostAmiga

Which might sound stupid, sure, but I mean...anything would've been better than the sequel they did make.

24. I'm pretty sure that anybody who can do this might be an actual superpowered mutant.

Now I'm starting to see where the villains in the X-Men movies are coming from.
