He explained that while everyone has been calling him out for looking like he's on "meth", he has actually been suffering from a serious illness.

"While a lot of people kept saying justin Bieber looks like [expletive], on meth etc. they failed to realize I've been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease," he wrote.

He explained that having Lyme disease and chronic mono has taken a toll on his skin and brain.

"Not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health."

He then revealed that he will be releasing a docu-series that will go into further detail on his condition.

In case you didn't already know, Lyme disease is an incurable illness carried and spread by ticks.

Early symptoms include rash, fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, headache, neck stiffness, and swollen lymph nodes. But later on, symptoms can become more severe, including neurological problems, heart problems, liver inflammation, and eye inflammation.

"These things will be explained further in a docu series I'm putting on YouTube shortly..," he continued.

"And I will be back and better than ever NO CAP," he concluded.

Upon delivering this news to his fans, his wife, Hailey Baldwin, stepped in with a statement of her own, directed at people who have been diminishing the seriousness of Justin's illness.

While countless fans were sending their love, support, and well-wishes, many were, essentially, brushing it off — insisting that Lyme disease is no big deal.

"For those who are trying to downplay the severity of Lyme disease," Hailey tweeted.

"Please do your research and listen to the stories of people who have suffered with it for years."

"Making fun of and belittling a disease you don’t understand is never the way," she went on.

"All it takes is educating yourself."

She then gave a shout-out to the Hadid family for helping her learn more about the disease.

"I wanna say a huge thank you to @YolandaHadid and @bellahadid and @GiGiHadid," she wrote.

"For bringing me so much clarity and information on Lyme disease and for helping answer my questions about course of action, symptoms etc. Love you 3 amazing women!"

She also thanked Avril Lavigne, who has been battling Lyme disease, herself, for several years.

In 2015, Avril opened up in a tearful interview with "Good Morning America" about her Lyme disease diagnosis.

"I literally became bedridden," she said. "It was like, literally the worst time of my life."

She explained that doctors had a hard time diagnosing her at first.

"They didn't really know what was wrong with me," she said.

"They would pull out their little computer and say, 'Uh, chronic fatigue syndrome,' or 'Why don't you just play some piano, Avril?' or, like, 'Are you depressed?' This is what they do to a lot of people that have Lyme disease. They don't know what to tell you so they tell you you're crazy."

"And sending so much love to @AvrilLavigne thank you for all you do to educate people about Lyme. You’re amazing," Hailey tweeted.
