Demi Lovato Gets Neck Tattoo After Celebrating A Year Of Sobriety

Demi Lovato is a survivor.

It's been over a year since her near-fatal overdose in 2018, and since then, the singer has made such a comeback.

To celebrate her one year of sobriety, she even memoralized the accomplishment with a neck tattoo!

Demi Lovato has had quite the year!

There have been so many incredible moments where the singer seriously slayed in 2019.

Like the time she shared this unedited pic with an empowering purpose:

"I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else’s standards," she wrote.

"So here’s me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day."

A few days after, she even declared herself photoshop-free when sharing this lime green leopard-print bikini selfie.

Or when she completely SLAYED Halloween.

So many celebs nailed Halloween this year and the former Disney star was no exception.

She had not one but two killer costumes: Marie Antoinette and a sexy version of IT the clown.

She was even briefly connected to "Bachelorette" star, Mike Johnson.

After Demi snuck into the reality star's DMs, they flirted publicly —much to fans delight — and even went on a few dates.

While things with Johnson didn't work out, she does have a new man in her life!

She's been dating model Austin Wilson since November.

A source told "People": “They’re enjoying spending time together and getting to know each other better."

"Demi is in a really good place right now and hard at work in both the studio and shooting 'Will and Grace,'" they said.

Speaking of "Will and Grace," the singer had returned to her acting roots.

The singer-actress has been cast as Jenny in the show's final season, where she'll appear in at least three episodes.

Another exciting thing that's happened to Demi in 2019 is her reaching one year of sobriety!

This is such a huge accomplishment, especially considering the near-fatal overdose she experienced in 2018.

In her first major interview since the ordeal happened, she shared how far she's come since then.

"What I see in the mirror [is] someone that's overcome a lot," she told Teen Vogue Summit.

In addition to her struggles with drug addiction, Demi has her battles with other demons.

This includes an eating disorder and the bipolar diagnosis she received in 2011.

"I've been through a lot and I genuinely see a fighter. I don't see a championship winner, but I see a fighter and someone who is going to continue to fight no matter what is thrown in their way," she continued.

"I wouldn't change the direction of my life for anything. I would never regret anything. I love the person that I am today," she added.

Demi is a survivor, indeed.

To memorialize how far she's come, she recently had the word "survivor" tattooed on her neck.

She showed off her new tat in these gorgeous photos taken by photographer, Angelo Kritikos.

Demi's BF Austin praised her in the comments:

"The most beautiful girl in this world," he wrote.

This isn't the first time the star has inked empowering messages to remind her of her resilience.

Lovato has the words "stay strong" on her wrist, "now I'm a warrior" her back, and a rose on the inside of her finger, which she got when she hit six months of sobriety.

The new ink looks great and we're so proud of you, Demi!
