'Power Rangers' Reboot To Be Set In The '90s

There are only a couple of things that are certain in life: death, taxes and the fact that '90s nostalgia will almost always make money.

Think it was a mistake they set Captain Marvel in the '90s? Think it's a mistake this movie is going to be set in the '90s as well?

So we're going to get a 'Power Rangers' reboot.

No, not the Power Rangers reboot from 2017, but a new reboot that's currently in development.

Kind of like the new reboot of Ghostbusters, it's one where they completely forget the original... reboot.

It's going to be directed by Jonathan Entwistle

The guy who did The End of the F***ing World on Netflix, which I can presume is a show about human sex drives ending.

So he'll be great for a Power Rangers reboot.

Patrick Burleigh is writing the script, and we don't know all that much about it yet.

But we do know that there's going to be some sort of "time-traveling element" that allows them to travel through time.

So what, they're going to go back and kill Hitler? Stop 9/11?

No, they're just going to go back to the '90s.

Which is a time that a lot of people are pretty fond of these days since they grew up in that time.

So yeah, expect the movie to have Blockbuster and Nirvana references, probably.
