Good Dog Fails Service Dog Exam Spectacularly In Hilarious Viral Video

Meet Ryker. Ryker is a Belgian Malinois and a very good boy.

But Ryker is very, very, very unsuited to be a service dog.

Double H Canine Training Academy in Louisville, Kentucky is very good at what it does.

Their About page on Facebook says:

"We believe every dog can be trained. You may ask yourself how we know. We know because we have trained hundreds of dogs."

But while all dogs can be trained in basic obedience, service dog training is a bit more intense.

Not every dog is suited to the job and many flunk out, but few have likely done so as spectacularly as Ryker.

To make the cut, a dog needs to demonstrate the ability to perform specialized tasks to help their human.

Tasks like pushing a wheelchair closer to the bed so their human can more easily climb into it. Not flinging the wheelchair to the floor.

Or walking nicely alongside a wheelchair and not dragging the poor human around while chasing a surprise ball.

Another common task is opening cupboard or fridge doors.

Ryker clearly loves tug o' war, because he pulls the whole fridge right out from the wall.

And those tennis balls commonly put on walkers? Those are for him, obvs.

I don't think the trainers were that surprised at his inability to focus, but the extent of his failure is spectacular.

Of course, they had to share the video in all its glory.

Everyone in the video works at the school and is trained to handle dogs, so don't worry when Ryker literally yanks someone out of a wheelchair.

Ryker actually belongs to one of the school's trainers.

That means he's still hanging around the school and cheering his fellow dogs on from the sidelines like the very good boy he is.
