Hospital Seeing Double After Welcoming 12 Sets Of Twins In One Week

When photographer Helen Ransom of Faces You Love Photography heard that a record-breaking number of twins had been born at Saint Luke's Health System, she jumped at the chance to photograph these special babies.

Besides documenting this once-in-a-lifetime event, Helen's photos show us insight into the reality of NICU families.

One hospital in Kansas City, Missouri is not just having a baby boom, it's having a twins boom.

Saint Luke's Health System saw not one, not two, but 12 sets of twins born in the hospital in the week leading up to Thanksgiving.

Helen Ransom of Faces You Love Photography used her skills to capture these incredible babies.

All of the twins were born prematurely, ranging from five-14 weeks early.

As a result, they will spend some time in the hospital's NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) until they are able to go home.

Helen is actually a former NICU mom herself, having given birth to triplets, so this opportunity had a personal connection to her.

Helen's photos quickly went viral and many praised the pictures for documenting the life of NICU families.

Her photos have been covered by CNN, Good Morning America, and People magazine to name a few.

It is believed that this is the largest amount of twins the hospital has cared for at one time.
