Designer Makes Tastefully Realistic Purses That Look Like Food

Food is life as some say, and I totally agree. Ha, ha. I love to eat and there are so many foods I can call my favorite. If you're a fellow food lover like me, you'll adore this story I'm about to tell you.

A Dutch designer has created purses that resemble different foods and they look so good you'll be tempted to eat them. But... don't, lol.

Rommy Kuperus is a 29-year old Rotterdam-based purse designer who started her business ROMMYDEBOMMY back in 2015.

Before then, she took a product design course at an art school.

Unfortunately, her experience at art school wasn't exactly a good one.

Her teachers didn't understand her unique vision for design and she ended up leaving the class altogether.

She could've just given up but instead, Rommy put all her creativity into action and she started creating her unusual food-inspired purses.

Six months later, she was already making waves.

Rommy has always been fascinated by food because of its unique shapes, colors, and textures.

She couldn't find any food-inspired purses out there so she decided to create her own.

If you think Rommy has a huge team behind her helping her with all of her designs you'd be wrong.

She's actually a one-woman company running all her marketing herself.

Even her brand's name is inspired by her own name translated from Dutch to English.

I think her designs are the bomb so this name is definitely very fitting. Hee, hee.

Rommy's amazing food-inspired designs have already garnered her some world wide attention.

Her purses were even featured on Holland's Next Top Model in 2016. I can totally see the appeal.

She's been featured on the covers of various Dutch fashion magazines and newspapers since she has launched her brand.

And now she's taking over the Asian fashion industry as well.

Apparently, Rommy has created over 400 unique food-shaped pieces. She even takes on custom work so you may end up with something nobody else has.

Mmmm, did someone say cheese?

All of her products are handmade and the whole process takes about three weeks.

While most of her purses are purely aesthetic some of them have space for small items.

If you think Rommy's bags weigh a lot, rest assured, they absolutely do not.

Etsy

OMG, is that guacamole I see with nachos? Haha. This is right up my alley.

In addition to patterned fabrics, Rommy also uses different types of clay and foam to make her purses look so realistic.

Etsy

And they never weight more than 200 grams. Whoa!

Rommy's favorite food is a salad but she has a knack for making all of her designs look so delicious.

Looking at these is already making me hungry for lunch.

Isn't it fantastic that this creative designer has turned her passion into a successful business?

I'm happy to see her designs are making waves everywhere. She totally deserves it.
