London Bridge On Lockdown After Stabbing Incident Reported

London Bridge has been cleared and sealed off from motorists and pedestrians following an incident involving a man armed with a knife, The Guardian reported.

While exact details have yet to be released, a number of people are believed to have been injured and at least one man has been detained by police after shots were fired.

Metropolitan Police were called to a stabbing incident near the bridge just before 2 PM (GMT).

One BBC reporter on the scene claimed he saw a group of men fighting on the bridge before police arrived and shots were fired.

Witnesses report a man armed with a knife was shot and detained by police.

In their latest update, the Met Police confirmed shooting one man and said the incident is being treated as having been "terror-related."

According to the BBC, staff at Monument station claim five people were injured in the stabbing incident.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted that he is "being kept updated on the incident" and thanked "the police and all emergency services for their immediate response."

Eye-witnesses captured photos and videos of the chaos on the bridge following the incident.

Twitter user Amanda Hunter was on a bus at the time and was stopped on the bridge after police arrived on scene.

She managed to take a short clip of several officers in the aftermath of the shooting.

Some videos actually appear to show members of the public tackling a man on the bridge before police intervened.

Twitter user Hand Luggage Only captured the shocking video of pedestrians swarming an unseen man on the bridge before police arrived and pulled people off. The video also appears to capture the moment when shots were fired from police at the unseen man.

One person walked away from the scuffle holding what appears to be a large kitchen knife.
