Helena Bonham Carter Recalls Drunkenly Asking Prince William To Be Her Child's Godfather

When it comes to epic godparents, a celebrity is obviously a top choice. I can think of a HOST of celebs I wish my parents had asked to be my godparent.

Dolly Paton. Elton John. Helen Mirren. Kim Kardashian.

I WOULD TAKE ANY AND ALL OF THE ABOVE.

One parent who wanted a celebrity grandparent for their child was ICON Helena Bonham Carter.

During a recent interview on Watch What Happens Live the actress revealed she once asked Prince Willaim to be the godfather of her second child, Nell Burton.

She admitted she had some *liquid* courage to aid in the ask: "I wasn't that drunk, but enough drunk for me not to drink anymore."

But to be fair, Prince Willaim wasn't sober, either, "Not in a bad way, it was just very jolly."

The mother of two explained she had run out of potential godparents for her second child.

"Thing is, I'd spent all my friends as godparents on my first child, so Billy had 11 godparents. So, I thought I could make up for Nell, you know who suddenly came along and we didn't have any left. I thought, 'Well, if I give her Prince William that would cover,' you know?"

Wills' response? "You don't want me to be godfather to your child."
