Snow Globe Nails Are The Manicure Trend Spreading Christmas Cheer

Since Christmas is just around the corner you may be thinking of some holiday-themed beauty ideas. Well, I've got one for you that has slowly been getting some attention and apparently it's about to explode this holiday season.

What is it, you ask? I'm talking snow globe manicures. What? Ha, ha. You heard me right. People are putting tiny snow globes on their nails. I'm not even kidding.

Now before you jump on the snow globe nails bandwagon I must warn you, this process is time-consuming AF.

And there's lots of steps to follow to get it just right.

So if you're planning on doing it yourself, just make sure you have a few hours to spare.

That way you can get it done properly and not ruin it.

The idea seems simple.

Affix a hollow ball to your nail, and fill it with glitter and liquid. When you shake it around it looks like a snow globe. Seems easy, right?

But it's actually quite a process.

You can create the globe casing from some glossy gel top coat. Create a mold from the rubber tip of an eye-dropper that's wrapped in saran wrap. Then, bake the globe with a UV nail dryer.

Then you could build a snowman or another shape with some nail polish or acrylic compound.

After that, you set the snowman on your nail and cover him with the globe. Fill the globe with liquid nail polish.

Are you still with me? LOL.

One important thing to remember is that you should first cover your nail with a peel-off base so it's easy to take off afterward.

That way, you won't be stuck wearing these nails after Christmas is over and you can just get rid of the snow globe very easily.

Sounds like a plan to me.

I encourage you to check out this video to see a little bit of how the process works so you get an idea.

And of course, there's always YouTube.

You can also use the whole nail as the base of your snowglobe just as you see here.

In this one, they put all the glitter at the tip.

Honestly, I dunno who would put a snow globe on their actual nails.

It seems a bit strange to me. But who am I to judge? LOL. It sure is festive.

There are plenty of designs you can create using a technique like this.

You can just stick to plain glitter or you can put characters inside of the globe.

I guess it just boils down to how intricate of a design you're trying to accomplish.

And, of course, how confident you are in your overall creative skills.

You don't have to stick to just a Christmas theme.

Some people are having fun with this nail concept and creating other interesting designs such as this Spider-Man one.

I must admit when I first heard of this trend my immediate reaction was WTF?

But who knows, maybe it's starting to grow on me? Pun intended. Hee, hee.
