Classic Batmobile Given The Lego Treatment With Epic 3,306 Piece Set

I don't know about you, but Lego has a direct line to my childhood. I grew up building with their blocks, and they seem to have grown up right alongside me.

Further proof of that is here, as the Danish toy geniuses have tapped into late '80s nostalgia with an undeniably rad 3,306 piece set of the classic, 1989 Michael Keaton Batmobile.

That 1989 flick introduced a whole new generation to the Caped Crusader, Gotham, Joker, and of course, the Batmobile.

It seems like every Batmobile since has either tried to make incremental improvements on it, or tried to distance itself from it because it is, quite frankly, an awesome, awesome design.

And guys, the folks at Lego clearly love it just as much as everybody else, because they didn't miss a trick in their design.

Just check out the cockpit, which slides back and forth like the movie Batmobile's.

Who wouldn't want to spend countless hours putting all the little pieces together to make this?

And inside, all the details are there.

Right down to the little bat symbol on the steering wheel!

Probably my favorite part, it even has the pop-up machine guns!

It just wouldn't be the Batmobile without them. They're downright iconic.

The whole thing sits on a rotating display, befitting such a refined piece of excellence.

And, bonus, you get three minifigs in the set: Batman, Joker, and Vicki Vale.

At $249.99, it's not exactly the least expensive Lego set out there, but you have to admit, they sure tried to pack the value into this one.
