16 People Who Had A Will And Found A Way

Life is full of challenges that sometimes make you feel like the world is out to get you. But rather than admit defeat, some people decide to get creative and take matters into their own hands.

So here's a salute to those problem solvers out there who refuse to let anyone or anything stand in their way.

1. They say a watched pot never boils, but does that still ring true with the all the wonders of 21st century technology?

All I'm saying is this guy should probably have his own cooking show on the Food Network by now.

2. An excellent Uber or Lyft ride experience is all about setting the right vibe for your customers. One driver realized this and decided to simplify the process.

Confession: I probably fall into the "basic 20-30s" category and I'm not even ashamed to admit it.

3. This teacher from rural Ghana is teaching his classroom computer science, despite the fact his school can't actually afford computers.

Twitter | @gurunkz

He's showing his students how to use a computer program with nothing more than a chalkboard and a ton of dedication.

4. When not directing blockbuster films like *Thor: Ragnarok*, Taika Waititi is busy finding the best places to take a spontaneous dad nap whenever and wherever he can.

Twitter | @TaikaWaititi

Luckily his child's stroller is the perfect place to catch a few Z's between shooting scenes.

5. Being single doesn't mean you have to be lonely. Just look at this guy who decided to take matters into his own hands by making a boozy boyfriend to call his own.

Does this count as not drinking alone as well?

6. A toy store in Austin, Texas decided enough was enough and asked their customers for help when they found themselves stuck with, well... whatever these things are.

I think it might be some sort of noisemaker or slinky?

7. The only thing worse than chapped lips is losing your lip balm for the millionth time this year. That's why this clever life hack is here to keep you fully moisturized.

Just don't lose your keys or else you're really screwed.

8. Don't let something like a "respectable serving size" stop you from quenching your thirst the next time you get fast food.

I sure hope he cleaned out all the chicken grease before he filled it up though.

9. Being a parent to a fur baby means keeping them well-groomed and respectable looking, even if they seem to have other ideas.

A mutilated purse is a small price to pay for the perfect doggy manicure.

10. Want that Adidas look but lack the bank to make it happen? Well that doesn't mean you can't just improvise.

Reddit | gotimo

Some white tape and a can-do attitude will have you looking sporty in no time.

11. Whoever does the hiring for the City of Los Angeles probably only spent about five minutes on this job posting that perfectly got their message out.

Twitter | @Citylajobs

This is both lazy and brilliant and that's what I appreciate about it.

12. Not sure how safe this is, but when you're in a hurry, sometimes you need to adapt to your surroundings and make do with what you got.

Reddit | AN0NASP0SSIBLE

Falling down an up escalator is a risk most aren't willing to take.

13. Helping your friends move is always a bit of a hassle. Nothing will ever fit the way it's supposed to, which means sometimes you'll have to get creative.

Reddit | iampedrosantos

This right here is what I call teamwork in action.

14. I think it's a little unfair that whoever wrote this test is getting penalized for finding a loophole.

Reddit | MARIO0S

If you ask me, maybe the teacher should just get better at writing test questions.

15. Have you ever seen an awesome recipe only to realize you don't have the right equipment to make it a reality?

Reddit | CPL_MWRE_PHCEJO

That's when it's time to root through your tool box and start making things happen.

16. This fella had one simple job to do and quite frankly, I think he really nailed it.

Twitter | @zackfox

It sort of just depends on what your definition of "freshen up" is.

17. This person found herself in need of a whiteboard, but wasn't able to get one fast enough.

Reddit | TexB22

So instead, she just parked her laptop in front of her shower and let her markers work their magic.

I'm a little curious about the paint can, though. Is that supposed to be how she clears the board when she's done?

18. This person has to spend their birthday alone, so their parents sent over the appropriate supplies.

Reddit | CaptainJOJ_20

I'm not sure if you can call it the worst party ever, though. I mean, the cake may have a picture of lonely Pablo Escobar running across it, but it's still a cake.

I love cake enough that no party seems like a waste as long as it shows up.

19. They make Raspberry Pi units with camera features, but that doesn't necessarily mean they make the tripods for them.

Reddit | Dregu

So this clever crafter thought outside the box and used a little epoxy to finally make the two tools that couldn't get along come together.

Not only did they solve their problem, but they created a powerful metaphor for friendship. Just let me have that one.

20. I'm guessing this person wanted to make their fish feel at home, but how do you do that without letting them escape?

Reddit | sluggy_da_blobfish

Apparently, the answer was to let their fish tank float gently on some more natural waters. I'm not sure we'll ever have a way of knowing whether that was comforting for the fish or just a massive tease, though.

21. Once upon a time, this was the only way that farmers could get a new tractor.

Reddit | Monster_Subaru

That's because tractor manufacturers all shifted their operations towards making military equipment during World War II, so farmers would instead scour junkyards for old Ford Model T's that they could then convert into makeshift tractors.

They apparently called these doodlebugs.

22. Once a mannequin breaks, there's not much you can do with it besides throw it away, right?

Reddit | seven_critical_blows

Well, that's apparently not how this person thinks. Instead, they used them as a way to extend and personalize their shoes.

I'm not sure how practical it is, but they definitely landed on a unique (and vaguely creepy) style.

23. Not only did this person find a way to light their workbench, but they also found a non-embarrassing use for a selfie stick.

Reddit | talaman4eg

Because aside from the rubber bands, that's what is holding up these lights that we normally install under kitchen cabinets.

24. If there's one thing that we don't often see in hotel rooms, it's cooking implements.

Reddit | Wiildman8

So when these two wanted to make some toasted sandwiches, they had to get a little more creative and break out the hair straightener.

I'm not sure how the results tasted, but I guess they still accomplished their mission.

25. This person's brisket will take about eight hours to make and they're not expecting it to stay this sunny all day.

Reddit | Beer_Pancakes

So, to ensure that their beef doesn't end up a soggy, half-cooked mess, they added this handy umbrella attachment to their slow cooker.

That's thinking!

26. This Italian medical student has discovered that they won't be able to get a webcam in time for their big exam.

Reddit | pochosmurf1

Fortunately, they were able to improvise with their phone with what looks like a shoelace and some grip trainers.
