Daniel Radcliffe and Erin Darke Welcome a New Bundle of Joy!

Daniel Radcliffe, 33, and his long-time partner, Erin Darke, have welcomed their first baby as they are now first-time parents.

On Monday, the lovebirds were seen pushing a stroller in New York City in pictures posted on Daniel Radcliffe Germany's Twitter account. 

Speculations were made around March that the lovers and co-stars were beginning a family. Erin Darke, 38, debuted her baby bump wearing a black zipped hoodie in March during a New York City walk with Daniel Radcliffe.

Just like Daniel, Erin is in the acting business. She is prominent for her work in several movies and TV shows. She appeared in The Beach Boys' biopic Love and Mercy, and Still Alice—which was Oscar-nominated. For TV series, she has appeared in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Good Girls Revolt.

Erin and Daniel have been together since they met on the Kill Your Darlings set in 2012. Although they have been together since then, the couple keeps their relationship and romantic gestures private and rarely make red-carpet appearances together.

Their relationship is not the only thing they want to keep private. Radcliffe has previously stated that he would want his children to avoid fame.

"Film sets are wonderful places. I think a lot of the time it can be wonderful for kids. But it's really the fame side of it that should be avoided at all costs," the Harry Potter star said.

In a 2015 interview with Playboy, Radcliffe opened up about his immediate attraction to Erin during their first scene together. “There's no acting going on—not from my end, anyway,” he told the outlet.

He continued, “There's a moment when she makes me laugh, and I'm laughing as me and not as my character. She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble.”

Erin Darke revealed to Elle that the first thing she and Daniel bonded over was their love for acting. She said, “There’s something that’s really beautiful and really lovely about being with someone who just innately understands that about you. We both support each other’s career.”

Daniel revealed to People in March 2022 that he is so happy to be in a relationship with Erin. “I’ve got a really nice life,” he told the outlet. “I’ve been with my girlfriend for a decade pretty much.”

Daniel Radcliffe is not the first Harry Potter star to become a father. In May 2020, Rupert Grint, who played the character Ron Weasley in Harry Potter, welcomed a baby girl named Wednesday with his girlfriend, Georgia Groome.

Grint, who is prominent for playing Ron Weasley in the eight-movie franchise, Harry Potter, has been in a relationship with Georgia Groome since 2011.

After Groome gave birth, Radcliffe congratulated the new parents during a Watch What Happens Live appearance. Daniel said, “I texted him the other day and said I was so happy for him and it’s very very cool.”

“It’s also like super weird, for me, to think that we are all at the age where we are all having children, but we definitely are!” Daniel Radcliffe concluded.

Fans and lovers of the couple took to Twitter to congratulate them on their bundle of joy. Here are some of the tweets.

John Fuchs wrote, “Now we can finally confirm that Harry Potter is all grown up and has moved on from defeating Dark Lords to the much more challenging task of changing diapers. Congrats to the happy couple!”

Another user wrote, “Congratulations to a wonderful pair. I'm sure they're going to be fantastic parents.”

Evie tweeted, “Omg, I'll cry when did we all get this old?”

Daniel Radcliffe Germany also sent out their congratulations to the couple, “Welcome, little one, and congrats to Dan and Erin ❤️❤️❤️Their Baby arrived ❤️❤️.”

Sara Brunel commented, “Well, that is an interesting turn of events. They only announced last month, and I thought they maybe using a surrogate, and now the baby appears? Not into the gos usually, but I do like finding out if I'm right, lol.”

The couple is known to keep their relationship private. And while the speculations of Erin's pregnancy have been confirmed along with the birth of their child, the baby's gender and name still remain unknown.
