A small business owner is facing criticism after not disclosing the criminal records of some of her employees to a new hire. The owner, who herself has a record, hires from the local halfway house and believes in giving people a second chance. However, when the new admin approached her about one of the machinists having a criminal record, the owner didn't confirm or deny it. This upset the admin, who quit and took to social media to criticize the owner. What do you think? Is the owner in the wrong or is she right to give ex-convicts a chance?

Small business owner faces backlash for hiring ex-convicts 🤝

A small business owner inherited a machine shop from her father and has been recruiting from the local halfway house to help ex-convicts transition into the community. However, after hiring an admin, the owner was faced with criticism for not disclosing that one of her machinists had a check writing charge. Despite having three felonies herself, the owner does not have a no-felon policy and believes in giving people a second chance. The admin quit after finding out and tried to blast the owner on social media, causing a backlash. What do you think? Is the owner in the wrong for not disclosing the machinist's charge or is she right in giving ex-convicts a second chance? Let's discuss in the comments below.
