Four years ago, Kanye purchased massive ranches in California and Wyoming. At the time, the Donda singer planned to turn those dry, empty lands into sprouting areas of homes for people. He shared a mega-mansion alongside his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, which happened to be the envy of L.A.

Although it is all fruitless now, West's 50-foot domes were initially developed to house the homeless citizens of L.A., while also serving as a stage for his gospel choir performance.

Speaking with Forbes then, West showed the early designs of his planned estate, which mimicked the planet of Tatooine from Star Wars. In one of his designs, the idea of constructing an underground path was at the top of his list, as he believed he could build an entire city.

The idea of owning his dream estate intoxicated him more than it should. He became obsessed with the Calabasas Ranch to the point that he pulled out of his 2019 music festival Coachella. Billboard reported that due to the show's organizers being unable to build him a dome, he wouldn't be coming.

Long before his antisemitic opinions came along, West already faced issues with California's housing regulators for his Calabasas ranch. The star singer, at the time, failed to have a government permit to build his houses, which resulted in the constructions being torn down.

The supposed California estate was also West's home for his Donda Academy School, which was to raise young singers around. Sadly, the school's site on his ranch has been forgotten, and recent pictures of the area show that it has also been abandoned.

West mimicked his style in Wyoming, intending to construct similar unorthodox futuristic buildings like his California estate. Only this time, instead of building the foundation with concrete and erecting it with wood, the Runaway singer used concrete on the foundation and the entire building structure.
