Halle Berry Pays Tribute To 'John Wick' Costar, Lance Reddick

On March 17, 2023, Halle took to her Instagram page to pay tribute to the actor. The 56-year-old actress penned a sweet caption dedicated to Lance and his huge smile.

Halle began her emotional tribute by sending her heartfelt condolences to the Hollywood legend's family and all those who knew and loved the actor. 

The actress then revealed she would never forget the big smile and heartfelt hug Lance gave her as she walked on the set of John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum for the first time. 

According to Halle, Lance's kind and sweet energy lit up every room he was in and his heart was larger than anything in it. "Heaven has another angel. You will be missed sweet friend," Halle concluded.

The former model accompanied the emotional write-up with a black and white photo of Lance, which his wife Stephanie Reddick posted.

In her upload, the grieving widow noted that her husband was taken from the world too soon. Stephanie then thanked everyone for their overwhelming love and support.

Lance's wife assured everyone that she could see their lovely stories and messages shared across social media platforms and couldn't be more grateful for them.

Many celebrities and fans rushed to the comment section to extend their condolences, including Halle. The actress sent her love and prayers to the grieving family.

Halle then described her colleague as one of the most sincere persons she had ever met, adding that the late actor was "truly one of a kind."

On March 17, Lance's death was confirmed by his representatives in a statement to People. The statement noted that the actor passed away suddenly from natural causes.

Lance's reps then went ahead to highlight some of the movies the actor was most famous for like The Wire, Bosch, Netflix's Resident Evil, and the John Wick films.

Finally, the statement revealed Lance left behind Stephanie and children, Yvonne and Christopher, after which, the public was asked to give the family the privacy they needed.

Lance was in the middle of a press tour for John Wick 4, scheduled to premiere on March 24, when the news of his demise broke. He was also involved in the franchise's fifth film, a spinoff titled Ballerina.

In a joint statement to Deadline, Keanu Reeves and John Wick director Chad Stahelski mourned Lance and revealed they will dedicate the latest sequel to him.

The pair expressed their sadness over the actor's death, describing him as "the consummate professional and a joy to work with."

Keanu and Chad then sent their love and prayers to Lance's wife, children, family, and friends. "We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly," the statement concluded.

The studio behind the film, Lionsgate, also said in a statement, that the world of John Wick would not be what it was without Lance, who brought "unparalleled depth and charisma."

Lance would always be held in the highest regard by all who knew and worked with him. He would also be remembered for his impact on the movie industry.
