In her latest music video, Demi Lovato goes up against a formidable foe: Ghostface.

Released for the soundtrack of the upcoming film Scream VI, Demi's new song, Still Alive, features a spine-chilling video, which was released earlier today.

The Video Follows A Narrative Similar To A Horror Movie

All The While, Lovato Sings About Surviving Her Demons

Demi, who has had her fair share of health scares and tragedies in the past, sings about perseverance in the pop-rock song. Lyrics include, "I'm still alive. I don't want to just survive. Give me something to sink all my teeth in. Eat the devil and spit out my demons."

She Continues With Her Message About Not Giving Up

"Went to hell but I'm back and I'm breathing, make me bleed but my heart is still beating," Demi continues in the song.

Meanwhile, The Music Video Features Actual Demons

Much like in a slasher film, Demi and her friends quickly figure out that something isn't quite right with their private screening, as the film suddenly shuts off.

Enter Ghostface

Alongside clips from Scream VI, Ghostface appears. This time, it seems that he has Demi and her friends in his sights, and he's not going down without a fight.

Spine-chilling clips of Ghostface hunting his prey continue, with more footage of the film to get viewers hyped.

Eventually, Though, Demi Fights Back

Much like the "final girl" in any horror movie, Demi takes center stage in the effort to fight back against Ghostface. After a tense fight, she grabs his knife and is ready to deliver the final blow.

But Things Aren't Quite What They Seem.

Much like any Scream movie, the music video subverts expectations. Before Demi can deliver the final blow, it's revealed that the entire sequence is actually part of its own movie. Talk about taking meta-horror to the next level!

Now, Demi Is Watching On.

As it turns out, she and her friends were watching their own movie. It's a strangely poetic ending to the music video.

You Can Check It Out Now!

Still Alive is available on streaming platforms, while the music video is out right now on Demi's official YouTube channel.

Demi First Teased The Song In February

Teasing its March 3rd release ahead of Scream VI, Demi posted a teaser pic to her Instagram in February. "What's your favorite scary movie?" the caption on the post asks.

She Later Followed The Teaser Up With More Pictures

A few days before the music video's release, Demi posted multiple behind-the-scenes pics from the set, showing off her outfit, and a picture of herself wearing the iconic mask.

Then, The Day Of The Release Came

Uploading the video at midnight Eastern time, Demi posted her own promo to Instagram, once again showing off the leather jacket and slicked hair she sports during the video.
