On her talk show this week, Drew Barrymore said that she and Adam Sandler are in discussions to work on another movie.
When Ross Mathews interjected, the 48-year-old actress-turned-host discussed Tom Hanks and Robin Wright from Forrest Gump.
"I love when people we love in movies, like, reteam for a movie. So, I'm gonna ask you on behalf of everyone: you and Adam Sandler, are we doing another one?" Matthews questioned.
"We are definitely talking about it, the mother of two retorted"
"There's conversations to find the [right movie]. We're actively seeking to find the right thing," Drew explained.
In 1998's "The Wedding Singer," Barrymore and Sandler made their acting debut as a couple. The film is still regarded as a classic and is notable in both filmographies.
For "50 First Dates" in 2004, they brought the magic back, and for "Blended" ten years later, they worked together once more as two single parents who fell in love.
Barrymore is undoubtedly underappreciated as the queen of romantic comedy. Her timeless romantic comedies also include "Never Been Kissed," "Fever Pitch," the Cinderella-remix "Ever After," and the underappreciated musical delight "Music & Lyrics," in addition to her films with Sandler.
Additionally, she was a part of the romantic comedy "He's Just Not That Into You."
Barrymore has taken an indefinite break from acting since the debut of her talk show in 2020, which is well-deserved considering that she began performing at 5.
However, a Sandler-Barrymore rom-com would be ideal for her to return to the spotlight.
Sandler has kept his filmography diverse in the interim. He received glowing reviews for his work in the 2019 film "Uncut Gems" and was nominated for a SAG Award for his performance in the 2022 film "Hustle."
We wouldn't be surprised if Sandler and Barrymore found a reason to work together again for the streaming service since the actor remains one of Netflix's biggest stars.
The pair have repeatedly shown that their friendship is still going strong despite the ungodly length of time since they last appeared on our screens.
Back in December, Sandler made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, where he and Barrymore admitted that she hadn't heard the actor's songs from The Wedding Singer, "Grow Old With You," or 50 First Dates, "Forgetful Lucy," until they were filming the scenes.
Barrymore made her admission two days after famous people flocked to the internet to wish her a happy birthday.
The actress reminisced about earlier times in a lighthearted clip that synced Mariah Carey's popular song.

The birthday girl received many good wishes from fans, including some close friends in the entertainment industry, and Drew could feel the love in the comments section.
Courteney Cox kicked things off by wishing the show host;
"Happy birthday beautiful girl! I could watch this video on a loop"
Gwyneth Paltrow added;
"The sweetest. The best. The most original. We love you so much Drewbs. Happy happy."
Justina Blakeney wrote;
"Happy birthday magic woman"
