This is what a star getting star-struck by another star looks like.

When Adele attended the 2023 Grammys in Los Angeles last Sunday, she not only won the award for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song, Easy on Me, but she was also introduced to the celeb she’d always wanted to meet: Dwayne Johnson.

It came as a surprise to the 34-year-old British singer and happened spectacularly on live TV, too. During host Trevor Noah’s opening monologue, he went over to Adele’s table, who was sitting beside her boyfriend, Rich Paul.

Noah then said, “This is one of the strangest things I’ve found out. The person that Adele has always wanted to meet but never has is Dwayne Johnson.”

The Surprise

He also revealed to the Someone Like You singer that Johnson was a big fan of hers as well. And then the surprise…

“I don't have Dwayne Johnson here tonight,” Noah said. “But I do have someone called The Rock,” at which point, the Jumanji actor turned up behind her.

The Introduction

An astonished Adele stood up to greet Johnson while Noah made the introduction, saying, “Adele, meet The Rock. The Rock, meet Adele. First time ever.”

Getting Acquainted

The two kissed each other on each cheek, and the Hello singer was obviously elated at finally meeting her idol. Noah then said, “Alright, you two get acquainted. We have to keep the show moving.”

Fangirling Over The Rock Back In 2021

Back in December 2021, Adele revealed that she was a fan of Johnson during an appearance on an episode of NikkieTutorials.

“I was the biggest wrestling fan when I was younger,” she explained.

She also revealed to the beauty vlogger that Johnson once sent her flowers because he and his wife couldn’t make it to her show.

“Literally, I nearly fell off my chair!” she recalled.

It was also Johnson who presented the songstress with her Best Pop Solo Performance award later that night at the Grammys. They’d obviously become fast besties that evening, as the actor said, “Get up here, best friend, Adele.”

Adele dedicated her Grammy win – her 16th – to her son Angelo, 10, and her boyfriend.

“I wrote this first verse in the shower when I was choosing to change my son's life,” she said in her acceptance speech.
