While Aaron Carter's fans were distraught over the late singer's unavoidable absence from the moving Grammys in memoriam tribute, which featured nods to numerous musical icons who have passed away recently, their anguish pales in comparison to Melanie Martin, the mother of Aaron Carter's son.

Swipe to see why.

Melanie Is Disappointed At The Academy

Melanie Martin told TMZ that she was perplexed that the Academy omitted him; Aaron wanted his music to be recognized. The apparent error was a slap in the face to his legacy and his son, according to the Academy.

Melanie Wants Grammy To Make It Up

Melanie also told the publication that she believed the show should make it up to Aaron somehow, whether by giving him special attention in the upcoming episode or in another way.

Grammy Paid Tribute To Some Deceased Artist

During the ceremony, which took place on February 5, a lengthy tribute segment paid tribute to the many musicians who passed away in the past year, including Takeoff, Naomi Judd, Loretta Lynn, Christine McVie, Lisa Marie Presley, DJ Stephen "Twitch" Boss, Olivia Newton-John, Jeff Beck, Coolio, David Crosby, and many more.

More Artist That Were Paid Tribute

While the images of the deceased celebrities appeared on screens, Kacey Musgraves, Quavo, Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood, and Bonnie Raitt performed heartfelt tributes in their honor.

He Made An Impact With His Songs

However, Aaron Carter didn't receive a mention during the much-anticipated "In Memoriam" segment of The Grammys, infuriating his supporters.

Aaron never received a Grammy nomination or award but left a lasting impression on Pop Music. His "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" and "That's How I Beat Shaq" both peaked at #98 on the Billboard Top 100 chart.

Fans Throw Jabs At Grammy

It's clear that Aaron's supporters are not going to let this go, and they have taken to Twitter to express their outrage at The Academy.

"Since the Grammys chose not include Aaron Carter’s picture while tributing the passed away singers. I’ll just post my own mini tribute because that’s so sad. Rest In Peace Aaron Carter."

One wrote, while another fan added;

"Why the heck wasn’t Aaron carter included in the memoriam part of the #GRAMMYs ??? That was cold."

His body was reportedly found next to numerous compressed air cans and prescription medication bottles, though the cause of his death has not yet been determined.

After entering the public eye at age 7, Carter spent most of his life battling addiction and mental health issues.
